Will a grill pan help me with this?
Svetlana62, it seems to me a good option. I have a square cast iron Biol 26cm. Sometimes I use it, it lies comfortably at the bottom of the kitchen cabinet, it takes up little space, sometimes I take it out to fry steaks.
Svetlana62
julia_bb, Yulia, Thank you! And how do you achieve complete roasting?
julia_bb
Svetlana, I turn the pieces of meat several times. Complete frying without problems.
Svetlana62
Yulia, thank you very much!

Svetlana,
Have you tried to play with the oven modes (if you have them)?
Convection, grill, different types of heating.
Each oven has a grate, if you put it on a baking sheet, then the products will not "cook" in their own juice.
Frankly speaking, it is better to buy such a form with a grid - it is more compact and easier to wash. Pyrex has an oval glass lattice, in the Metro they were in front of NG for 900 rubles. Great stuff!
Comments on "banging the oven" because of 2 pieces of meat are not accepted!
But ... of course, it is almost impossible to achieve taste and roasting like on natural coals ...
Svetlana62
Igor, there is an oven, and a spit, and forms with Teskomovsky grates, and a perforated baking sheet, and a Klatronic electric grill. Not that coat. I'll try on thick grill cast iron. Of course, I don't expect a barbecue taste and smell, but at least remotely, maybe it will work out.

Svetlana62,

In my opinion, these are completely different things. You just have associations with stripes on the product (from the grill and grill pan)). But this is the only thing that unites them. The main thing on the grill is the smell. The scent of smoke and wood. The heat is very high. It's easier to just light up the grill and fry it yourself. I'm serious. It's not as outrageous as it sounds. A grill pan is a normal roast. A cast iron pan is also a hassle of knowing how to handle / care for cast iron. Better to try roasting on the grill setting.

PS: I have a private house and I have a brazier, a wood-burning stove, three types of grill pans, etc.
Svetlana62
Scarecrow, Natasha, I know how to light a brazier, but I don't want to knock my husband off the diet prescribed for him now for health reasons. I also know how to look after cast iron, it does not bother. Thank you, Natasha, for the advice. All the same, I will try to heat the frying pan on the stove, and I will achieve the taste of barbecue with smoked paprika and various marinades.

Svetlana62, Svetlana, if I happened to find myself in such a situation, I would do this: first, I would simply boil pork, for example, ribs, first simply boil it, dry it and then put it on a baking sheet, a grate in the oven under the grill, so that the black-and-coal crust is baked from the extreme heat And the meat will be soft inside kebab on top

I used to cook like that once, when there was a lot of "kebab" for the family. Quench thirst with "kebab" with charcoal. And since you need a grill in the oven, you won't need much time for such a kebab, and you can bake even a few pieces of ready-made meat. After all, we bake sweet peppers in this way under the grill, until black and quickly turn out with a "smoke"

Svetlana62
Tatyana, Thank you! We must try, a great option to bring down the hunter.

It's a shame you don't consider expensive and bulky ones. Look, nevertheless, in the direction of air fryers. I have Phillips. I have already bought 3 pieces for myself, my mother and my friend. Good pork, even without marinating, cooks for 15 minutes and there is no splashing at all. And a lot more you can do, bake apples quickly, puff pastry, bake vegetables. Mom's hot sandwiches for breakfast business and - bread + sausage + cheese. It is very versatile.
Svetlana62
ch-g-ch, Svetlana, I already had it, I bought it in the forefront.Good thing, I agree. I gave it to my daughter, since it is bulky for me. Thank you!

Ladies, who has grills in use - overhead panels on the hob (plancha)? I admired this Lodge panel: 🔗.
Chugunin without teflon. It's embarrassing that there is no splash protection at all. And I can't understand if there is enough room for juices and fats from steaks to drain. Can you tell me something?
