Ingredients

Wheat flour, premium 100 g
Wheat flour c / z 100 g
Water 200 ml
Egg (I use 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed) 1 PC
Salt pepper taste
Vegetable oil 2-3 st. l.
Green onion 100 g
Shrimp 50 g
Squid 100 g
Green and red hot peppers 10 g each

Cooking method

  • Hemul phajong is a type of pancakes "phajong" with green onions, fried in butter, to which a variety of seafood is additionally added.
  • One serving is very small, I advise you to cook at least two.
  • The dough is prepared in the same way as in kimchijong cakes. You can also add 2-3 tbsp. l. vegetable oil.
  • Water, flour, egg / flaxseed, salt and pepper. Mix. I use 1 tbsp instead of an egg. l. flax seed, ground in a coffee grinder.

  • Rinse the onion well and cut into 3-4 cm pieces

  • Prepare seafood. I saw cucumaria (boiled-ice cream fillet) on sale, I decided to add it too. Took shrimp, cucumaria and squid

  • Chop seafood and hot peppers. I got meaty quality shrimps and all with caviar. I separated the caviar and decided to add it to the dough too.

  • Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, heat and spread the dough evenly

  • Fry the pancake on both sides over medium heat until golden brown

  • Serve with hot gochujang sauce or make a sauce with soy sauce, vinegar, sugar and hot pepper (the same as I wrote in the topic kimchijong).

This dish appeared in our family several years ago after the first trip to South Korea. There, such pancakes are served with a wide variety of fresh seafood in almost all establishments from the most modest cafes to respectable restaurants. A very common and favorite dish.
We also liked it. We now cook it quite often.
Especially now, when a piercing cold wind tears off the last leaves from the trees outside the window, it rains and snows, so you want to taste delicious, fragrant, hearty pancakes with a spike in a cozy family circle and warm up with warmth remember the places dear to your heart.

galsys, Check mark, no, I don't boil it. Seafood is cooked for minutes, the less, the more tender, so there is no point in further heat treatment. Moreover, to find raw shrimps, at least we have a big problem. They are already coming boiled and frozen. It turns out that I only had squid from raw ones. It turned out so tender in pancakes, that's it!

Cool cakes! Korean dishes with the prefix "hemul" have interested me for a long time.

Then, when I was reading Tove Jansson's books about Mummy trolls to my kids. And there was such a funny scientist Mummi Troll Hemul. And, a relative from Vladivostok, while passing us, fed us with hemultan and talked a lot about Korean cuisine.So I remembered the name. And that soup really came to my soul.
