Ingredients

Green tomatoes 1kg processed
Sugar 700 g
Orange 1 PC.
Vanillin (optional) taste

Cooking method

  • Cut the tomatoes into dimes or slices and freeze. Defrost, drain the liquid. Grind the orange into porridge with the peel, removing the seeds. Combine tomatoes, sugar and orange and leave for 8 hours or longer. Cook three times for 10 minutes with standing for 8 hours. At the last cooking add vanillin, roll up the jam.

The recipe, of course, as always, changed a little: instead of a lemon, I put a large orange, did not peel the tomatoes and did not freeze them. The fact is that for the last month and a half we have been living here completely without rain, so small yellow tomatoes have begun to wither right on the bush. Yes, a lot ... It became interesting for me to try this unusual jam.

Distinct orange flavor and aroma. Tomatoes give some kind of interesting incomprehensible flavor. Not nasty, rather attractive.

If the tomatoes were oak green, the color of the jam would be green too.

I left one jar to the main consumer of jam, who is now absent, - will he understand from what? .. A friend appreciated: "For fun!"
