Grapefruit sorbet

Ingredients

Grapefruit pink 2-3 pcs.
Sugar (fructose) 3-4 tbsp. l.
Egg white 2-3 pcs.

Cooking method

  • Peel the grapefruits (their number depends on the size) by opening the pulp slices with a sharp knife.

The author of the recipe suggests dissolving 200 (!) G of sugar in heated water (200 ml). Believe me, this is unnecessary.
I have selected for myself the most pleasant proportions that give the feeling of a natural grapefruit taste, which I share with you.

Some aromatic alcohol (Limoncello liqueur, champagne) can be added to the mixture for refinement. You can do this at the stage before freezing - this is important when freezing in the freezer. If you freeze it in an ice cream maker, then alcohol must be added 5 minutes before the end, otherwise you can wait a long time for the end.
I didn't add alcohol at all.

If the sorbet is frozen, you can transfer it from the freezer to the refrigerator 40-60 minutes before serving. It will become the desired consistency.

The author of the recipe suggests breaking the frozen sorbet with a blender and then shaping it for serving.
