Thick zucchini waffles with Osterkron cheese

Ingredients

Zucchini 1 PC
Fresh yeast 25 g
Milk 300 ml
Sugar 1 tbsp
Salt 2.5 h l
Egg 1 nt
Butter 80 g
Vegetable oil 50 ml
Flour 300-350 gr
Osterkron cheese or any other blue cheese for garnish

Cooking method

  • Peel the zucchini (not small), remove the seeds, if large and chop not coarsely. I used a Philips HR 1388 electric grinder. I didn't squeeze the juice. In a separate bowl, mix warm milk, sugar and yeast. Let stand for a few minutes. Add egg, half flour and stir. Add the courgette, salt, melted butter, oil and the rest of the flour. Stir. Cover with foil and let stand. When the dough has increased, bake in the preheated thick waffle iron. Serve with crumbled cheese. I really love blue cheeses. Those who don't like it can be served with sour cream. Bon Appetit!

Note

I'm not indifferent to zucchini. I love zucchini pancakes. But, since they are fried in oil, they are heavy. I experimented with thick waffles, I really liked it. I decided to share ...

Omela
What a deliciousness !!!! We must try, otherwise the zucchini has nowhere to go.

I haven't got a waffle iron yet, but I have taken the recipe to the bookmarks. In stock. I still hope to taste such deliciousness and beauty. Thank you!

Omela, delicious ... Can't stop

Babushka , an interesting recipe. I heard a lot about zucchini aladya, but I didn't do it myself. But the waffles will be more interesting. Need to try. Have you tried it with pumpkin? I really like aladya with pumpkin.
Babushka
The pumpkin was not at hand. I love pumpkin in porridge and baked. I do not know how it will be in waffles

I stopped loving squash pancakes for the presence of oil in which they are fried. Waffles should be just the right thing, but you should definitely try with pumpkin, especially since its season is ahead. Tell me, what is your waffle iron? I am going to buy, I am studying this issue. Thank you.

I baked on a Moulinex Snack Time waffle iron with replaceable plates (for thick waffles and hot sandwiches). I really liked the taste: light, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

I look forward to when my waffle iron comes and first of all I will try your recipe! looks very tasty!

Tanyulya, thanks for the praise. And I had an idea to do it with minced chicken. I guess I'll take a chance this weekend ... but all because I don't really like sweet pastries.

I did potato meat, but it is more convenient to make buters.

I will definitely bake such beauty, the lack of oil during frying is especially captivating

Live and learn! We make pancakes with zucchini every year, and baking them in a waffle iron simply did not occur to me! What a wonderful idea !!!

Tell me, please, can you replace "live" yeast with dry? If then how many to put them? Thank you. Good luck and health to you.

Babushka
I didn't bake with dry yeast. It is believed that a small standard sachet (7 grams) will replace 25 grams of fresh ones.
Maybe someone from the members of the forum will tell you more precisely?
