Ingredients

Sugar 2kg.
Water 1L.
Black currant 1.35kg.

Cooking method

  • Dissolve sugar in water, cook after boiling over low heat with the lid open for 40 minutes.
  • Add currants, stir. Cook after boiling over low heat with the lid open, stirring for 5 minutes.
  • Roll up in sterilized jars under hot lids (I have a twist).
  • Store at room temperature.
  • I use it for making fruit drinks, with cottage cheese, and by itself with bread butter !!!!!

Ksyusha, apparently, water is needed to reduce the acid content (there is a lot of it in currants and not everyone can do it - I know it myself).
And I twist all the berries with sugar 1: 1.5 and store in a cool place - it's both easier to cook and healthier.
