Girls, cooked rice today, or rather a mixture of 4 types of rice, there was a lot of both rice and water, put it on mixed rice and for the first time on this cartoon mode really worked for 70 minutes! I noticed)) Although it usually turned off before, it means that it still works before the liquid boils off. True, I never found the ideal proportions for rice, who cooks how? 1: 2?
insava
I often boil a mixture of rice. If it's shorter, for example, a little. rast. oil on the bottom of the pan, 2mstak. mix rice, salt, seasoning and water to the number 2 on the Mixed Rice scale and start the program of the same name. If 3 mstak. rice, then up to the number 3, etc.
And if it's more confused, then for general development on page 8 of our topic - a link in the post of the IRR, for which she is a big merci
The program really lasts 70 minutes, BUT you can try it on the Quick Cook
Zhuk2013
Today I decided to experiment with Toshiba RC-10. I cooked rice in different programs. Round grain Krasnodar rice was selected. Before cooking, a portion of the rice was washed in several waters to clean water, the rice was not soaked. The dose of rice is 1 mst. Rice was put into a multicooker, water was poured up to mark 1 (for white and mixed rice, the marks practically coincide. In addition to water and rice, I did not report anything else, in general, in the best Asian traditions. The results are as follows:
1) White rice program. The rice is relatively sticky and moist. Closest to porridge, but not porridge! Probably just for sushi. But, and as a side dish, not poison. You can easily "feast on" such rice in a public catering or at the cook, who has calculated a little something.
2) Mixed rice program. The driest rice in my opinion. Rice to rice, crumbly (well, as much as possible for round grain rice). Perhaps, to someone, it will seem slightly undercooked, harsh. But, given the fact that the rice stood on the heating for more than 5 minutes, maybe 30 minutes after heating it will be the same. As a side dish, especially if you add oil, it would look very good.
3) Program "Fast cooking". He poured water as for mixed rice. I did not see much difference from point 2. Well, maybe a slightly softer rice. Rice cooked the fastest, about 30 minutes.
In all cases, the rice did not burn, the dish never looked like porridge. I don’t understand how something doesn’t work for someone. Rice for all tastes!
Perhaps someone has a multicooker on a not too flat surface, because of this, the water on the mark is not correct. Can be checked by turning the saucepan. If, when turning around the whole circle, the water level is the same, then everything is ok.
There used to be a Panasonic TM-10. Surprisingly, Panasonic had a 1: 2 ratio of rice to water and still worked well. And here 1: 1.15 - 1: 1.25.

He also cooked millet millet porridge. 0.5 mst millet washed in boiling water, 1 tsp. sugar, 0.5 tsp. salt, a mixture of water and milk (approximately 2: 1) up to the 0.5 Congee mark. Before laying the products, I greased the walls with butter. Set it overnight with a timer to be ready by 7 am. I added a piece of butter to the finished porridge.Everything turned out delicious, nothing burnt, nothing escaped. Well, maybe I would like a little thicker, next time I'll try to add less liquid ... Or more cereal. I really liked this porridge in Panasonic, but there the ratio of cereal and liquid was 1: 4, here it is much more. Maybe 1: 6. True, in Panasonic this porridge burned slightly.

Curd casserole from the recipe book. I did everything as written, except that I had to slightly reduce the amount of products, the cottage cheese was only 600 g. I added raisins.
Everything was baked normally, the bottom and sides were reddened. The top is white. The taste itself is almost not sweet, but you can pour all sorts of syrup-jams. In my opinion, it’s better not to cook exactly like the recipe. It is better to beat eggs with sugar for a long time in a mixer until a good foam is obtained, and then carefully combine them with cottage cheese and kefir chopped on a blender and mixed with semolina. In theory, this should be more airy!

Question: what are the special features of long grain rice cooking? Which program is better, how much water to add?
Gusyona
Zhuk, about the porridge - I don't grease the walls with oil, and even more, I stopped adding water, only milk - the result is always excellent, the porridge has never burned. I think the ratio of 1: 6 for porridge is ideal, then it is not thick and not liquid (except for buckwheat and semolina, of course, for buckwheat I take 1: 1.5, and I cook semolina on the stove, which is there for 5 minutes and that's it).
Regarding rice, I myself still understand, I only used the round one for porridge, but I cooked the long-grain one in different modes, I like the mixed one most of all, crumbly on white rice is thicker and stickier (well, for sushi, just), not on quick cooking I liked it, but maybe I haven't got used to it yet.
Zhuk2013
I tried to use the Boiling egg program / I took 1 egg from the refrigerator, put it in a MV pot, and filled it with water so that the egg was completely covered. Delivered, installed the appropriate program for 25 minutes (by default). The actual time from program start to end signal was 37 minutes. I opened the lid once, the water is hot, but it doesn't even boil close, you can stick your hand, but the egg with your bare hands at the end of the so-called. cooking still could not be obtained. Immediately after the signal, he took out an egg, cooled it in cold water for 1-2 minutes. In my opinion, what happened does not even reach the state of "soft boiled", the protein has hardened here and there, the yolk is liquid. As the instructions say about 70 degrees, the way it is!
Zhuk2013
Hmm! Interesting girls are dancing! I tried to cook rice as on Panasonic in a ratio of 1: 2, that is, I washed the rice for 1 ms, drained the water, filled it with water, then filled it with 2 ms of water. The total water level was 0.5 Porridge. I turned on the "mixed rice" program. The result was porridge ... Very thick, rice grains are visible, but this is closer to porridge than to a side dish. It turns out that not all multicooker is the same. That is, in ours, either the temperatures are different, or the sensor will work for a different temperature, or the steam outlet valve returns more water back to Fig. How many instructions I have not read about multicooker, everywhere it seems like the ratio of rice to water is 1: 2. And ours is kind of special. I don't know if this is good or bad?

And ours is kind of special.
Zhuk2013definitely special!

In order for the machine to work according to the laid down scheme, it is necessary to observe the proportions:
In the case of rice, you can refer to the scale on the inside of the bowl.
You have chosen, say, white rice, poured 1 multi-glass (washed in advance or do it in a bowl), then pour water up to mark 1 on the scale white rice (White rice).

In other words, everything very much depends on the type of rice you choose.

Krasnodar steamed in a standard proportion will turn out "right".
And the round grain that you used is just more suitable for making sushi, porridge, puddings, etc.
Since it contains a lot of starch, and it absorbs a lot of liquid, it will become more sticky and mushy.

And about the problems of other manufacturers, you need to ask renard
If I'm not mistaken, then her choice still fell on Panasonic

Yes, I chose Panasonic twice. First I changed Panasonic with Redmond M-10.
But the M-10 did not behave as expected and was returned to the store. And I once again confirmed myself in the opinion that nonaname should not be included in the selection lists.
After Redmond, I chose between cuckoo, Toshiba, Hitachi, Panasonic and Phillips.
I read about the experiments of the owners of other multicooker with cooking, and the second time I chose Panasonic-10.
Not because he is the best, but because there is practically no need to adapt.
He cooks porridge normally, bakes casseroles and biscuits, stews meat, cooks steamed, recipes have long been invented, worked out and described by kitchen craftswomen.
For this, I forgive him such shortcomings as: slowness, lack of "foolproof" of the lower heating element, lack of a removable plate on the lid, inconvenient direction of opening the lid and position of the display, a very blind display, a valve that falls out when the lid is opened, and a very delicate bowl coating ...

Zhuk2013, I often use (and not only me, but dad also often uses it) the "Boiling egg" program and always get "soft-boiled" eggs in their classic presentation. Everything is the same as yours: I take eggs, put them in a MV pot and fill them with water so that the egg is completely covered with water, but no more (which roughly corresponds to number 4 on the White rice scale inside the saucepan). The program time is 25 minutes, although the actual time is also 37 minutes (I think 25 minutes is after the MB warms up).
Zhuk2013, you intrigued me with water:

Or you should try to pour more water and set the time for 30-35 minutes! Successful cooking!

Put in my fly in the ointment. Cooked pasta with chicken. Dressing - as for pilaf, began to fry onions with carrots, put in pieces of chicken. I figured out how long it would take, judging by the process, spat, put everything in a frying pan, and fried it there. Then everything is back in the cartoon, on top of pasta (from durum wheat!), Poured boiling water, salt, seasonings. Mode is as advised "mixed rice". At the end, the water boiled away, but the pasta turned out to be caked and slimy (because without rinsing), maybe it was necessary to take not "feathers", but "spirals"? The dish tasted like nothing, the children grinded it, but the appearance did not give me pleasure personally; although, for cooking on a hike, it would be fine on a fire. In the morning everything stuck together into one lump. Maybe, of course, this is the "first pancake", but is it worth bothering with a dish that I already get so great in a deep frying pan?
Gusyona
Why did they pour boiling water? That is why the macaroons probably stuck together. I did it with feathers, the water is cold, the result was better, but the pasta boils more than on the stove.

A few minutes later, I felt the smell of burning, looked inside, everything seemed normal. I thought that the garlic gave a smell like that, pulled it out. But apparently not from him .... As a result, MV switched off after 45 minutes, without starting the countdown. alvi , since you smell the smell within a few minutes, perhaps something got between the saucepan and the heating plate: a small piece of food, drops of some substance, dust - this could give the smell. If the bowl weren't covered with a non-stick coating on the outside at all, I wouldn't have worried. Well, the resistance of the inner coating to scratches leaves much to be desired, it is the same as on Panasonic. The ceramic coating is very fragile, I checked it in pans, at first I like it so much, nothing burns, but somehow short-lived, it is easy to ruin it, and in itself it loses its properties - everything starts to burn. Therefore, I did not take a multicooker with a ceramic bowl.

looking at other multicooker on other sites, I came across multicooker in the price range of 15,000 rubles. and up to 34,000 rubles. I looked at the most expensive multicooker (cooker) for 33,360 rubles. I was interested in her capabilities. I found information in the characteristics:
Cooking time for rice with additives and spices: 60-65 min.
Time for cooking sushi rice: 35-50 min.
Cooking time for brown rice: 85-95 min.
Cooking time for sprouted brown rice: 50-60 minutes.
Cooking time for brown rice with GABA: 190-195 min.
Cooking time for sweet rice: 40-50 min.
Time for cooking porridge: 60-75 minutes.
Parboiled Rice Mode: No
That's it, there are no more modes. In fact, it turns out that only rice can be cooked in it.
So our Toshiba for 5,600 rubles. far from the most expensive "rice cooker".

Made a charlotte from page 46 of the recipe book. I'll make a reservation right away, I have a Toshiba that is a small 10 model.
Beaten eggs with sugar very well. Instead of soda, added 0.5 tsp. baking powder, but not into eggs, but into flour. The rest is all according to the recipe. In general, it did not work out! The pastry came out inside, not that it would be raw, but as if it was soaked in sugar syrup, it tasted too sweet. The sides and bottom were fried until light brown like in the picture, but they remained stuck to the side of the pan. The dough and pastries themselves were quite bubbly, they took about half a saucepan in volume. Maybe someone did exactly according to the recipe, share the results!
Question to Toshibe. The top heating element, as I understand it, serves only to remove condensation from the top cover, but not to get the top fried crust. This is true? After all, we, unlike many other MV, do not have a condensate collection tank, but we do not need it.

Further. Recipe on page 20 - Buckwheat with turkey and vegetables. Instead of turkey, chicken breasts were used, instead of tomatoes, tomato paste with water of the appropriate volume. I did pre-frying in a skillet, it's faster. The weight and volume of all products was reduced by 1/3, since there were only 500 g of breasts. And he did the right thing! If I did a full portion, nothing would fit, everything would overflow! At the end of cooking, the buckwheat was damp. But after standing on the heating for 40 minutes (as it is written in the recipe book) everything became normal. The taste of the dish is quite edible, sometimes you can cook! Yes, I put the salt in 1.5 tsp. without top.

Maybe my faulty one? or what buttons should be pressed and what should be lit at the same time! Thank you in advance.

In the Odnoklassniki forum I found a photo of an insert-steamer for any multicooker.

With the help of vertical corners, it can both increase and decrease. It seems to me that this device is more convenient than our insert-steamer.

You need to post your post to the girls on the topic about silicone things on this forum - maybe they will tell you something
Do it - it's your find

Well, that's right above the "White Rice" the light is on on the Bakery. And I never baked a charlotte, here's a cottage cheese casserole 5 times for sure. And also on Baking, and not on Porridge, as indicated in the recipes
Right now, charlotte experts will prompt, respond

By the way, I saw on the internet that in Nizhny Novgorod you can make a collective purchase for this thing. And about the repost - I better trust you, since I'm not very advanced in this. But the thing is really awesome, and even so funny!
