  • There are many fillings for strudel, but apple and cherry fillings are considered classics. Today we are preparing the cherry strudel.
  • I took defrosted cherries. Who will also use it - put it in a drushlag so that the juice stack a little. But not much, otherwise dry strudel will turn out. Fresh cherries - also a little, after pitting.
  • Sifted flour twice. (The first time did not work, Denis Andreevich helped a lot), mix with salt. Melt the butter and mix with flour and vegetable oil. It turned out buttery (is there such a word?) Crumb. Slowly adding warm water, knead the dough. Elastic, homogeneous. Does not stick to hands. Roll the dough out of the dough, grease it with vegetable oil on top, cover with a towel and leave for half an hour. 30 minutes is enough for us to grease a baking sheet with oil (cover with baking paper).
  • The dough came up. We roll it out in a thin layer, trying to make a rectangle. We give a small piece to Denis Andreevich (he also loves to wrinkle it in his little hands). Thickness 2-3 mm., No breaks. Separate the dough from the surface and start preparing the filling.
  • Stir in cherries, sugar, ground cinnamon, crackers and vanilla sugar. Sprinkle the dried dough with vegetable oil and spread the filling. On the short side, gently roll the filled dough into a roll, lay on a baking sheet and grease a little with butter. We bake at 200-220 degrees for 15-20 minutes. We take out the finished strudel, grease with oil, cover with a towel and hold it a little (so that it does not cool down), prepare tea and call Freesia))). That's all.
  • Serve hot with natural whipped cream (no sugar). Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
