Lithuanian cheese biscuits with poppy seeds

Ingredients

Dough:
Parmesan cheese (other is possible) 165 g
Butter 165 g
Flour 210 g
Salt 0.5 tsp
Sugar 0.5 tbsp. l.
Baking powder 0.5 tsp
Ground paprika 1 tsp
For boning:
Egg 1 PC.
Poppy seeds / sesame seeds / any chopped nuts and herbs 2 tbsp. l.

Cooking method

  • These cookies are very spicy and unobtrusive. Men like them very much, apparently because they are a little salty. My elder one has one of my favorites!
  • The recipe is very simple and quick to prepare. It is also convenient in that the dough can be prepared a few days ahead of time, rolled into blanks and put in the refrigerator - it will lie quietly for 7-10 days, it's checked!
  • So let's get started:
  • • Mix flour with baking powder, salt, sugar and paprika.
  • • Grate cheese on a fine grater and mix with softened butter and flour mixture.
  • • Knead the dough quickly until smooth.
  • • Divide into 2 parts and roll the sausages (for a change, you can make a different profile: circle, square, hexagon, etc.)
  • • Wrap them in plastic wrap and refrigerate min. for 30 min.

  • • Take the blanks out of the refrigerator, unfold and grease with an egg with a silicone brush and roll in poppy seeds or other powders

  • • Cut into slices 0.5 cm thick, place on a baking sheet and bake over medium heat for 15-20 minutes.
