Here is what was written on the site in the description of Prima - The difference between the BORNER PRIMA vegetable cutter from previous models is that the inserts are fixed in the frame, and not simply inserted. There is a comfortable handle for holding the grater. Additional features - 5 changes in thickness, safe blocking of the main blade during storage, convenient compact folding of the vegetable cutter.
And what is the thickness change not regulated in Trade? Is this a much needed addition?
Damn already my head is dizzy from these curses

I have had a Trend for over 15 years. Now updated. I bought Trend again. He suits me in all respects.
Sandy
I have several DECOKs, so, in principle, they also arranged it ... until I got into the topic about Berners
azaza
The Trend has two cutting thicknesses on a knifeless insert, and two slices (3.5 and 7 mm). Do not get thick pieces on the knife-less piece - a maximum of 5 mm, if not less. A plug insert is sold separately to Trend - one side closes the blades tightly, purely for storage (in this position, the grater cannot cut). If you stick this insert on the other side, it will give an average cut thickness between the thinnest and the thickest type (which is not that thick). In general, the stub is not a superfluous thing.
In this regard, Prima is more convenient. 4 thicknesses of knifeless cutting (i.e. plastics, straws, but not sticks), plus the position of the plug, and all this without removing the insert, but only moving it with the button. Knife inserts (3.5 and 7 mm), using the same button, are cut with bars in one position, in the other with rhombuses. To be fair, the rhombuses are very small even by 7 mm, that is, if you need such a fine cut, take Prima. Personally, I don't need such a trifle.
From the standpoint of the above, it might seem that Prima is better. But in some ways it is inferior to the Trend. Namely, in the thickness of the residues. On the Trend, vegetables are cut with almost no residue, or with a minimum, not thicker than 1.5 mm. In Prim, due to the design features of the case, the remains are up to half a centimeter.
Both graters are good. Decide for yourself what is more important to you - cutting into a small diamond, or no leftovers. I don't need Berner's cubes or rhombuses, I have a combine for the cubes. Therefore, I chose Trend (but I was rushing from one float to another for a very long time, you are not the only one who cannot make a choice) I'm VERY happy with the choice !!! From the first try, the grater did not really impress me - not everything worked out, it inserted some inserts incorrectly, which is why the result was only half satisfied. When I realized what the mistake was, everything turned out right away. Graters are very expensive, but well worth the money! For example, I bought Decuk for 200 UAH. In terms of quality and convenience, Berner surpasses it ten times, if not more. The price is only two and a half times more expensive.
When you decide on the model, look for additional inserts, especially the necessary 10 mm knife. But even 1.6 mm will not be superfluous, now I know for sure (at least I miss it, which means there is a reason to visit Berner's department). I highly recommend the Karli grater. She is dear, an infection, but I have this favorite, I have never regretted the money spent on her.
Sandy
azaza thank you very much for the detailed answer, and what is this Carly? Something in the store there is no such, or I do not look at the name correctly
Sandy
Oh, I found it called a salad grater Carly 150 UAH .. And what form of slicing does it get?

Girls, what are Prima's sizes, that is, length in cm and width?

Vegetable cutter size: 37 cm x 14 cm x 4 cm.

14 cm width from above, from top to bottom the grater narrows slightly

Sandy, I won't cut it now, there are pictures somewhere in the subject. First of all, it is good for cutting winter varieties of cabbage - it fluffs and softens it. But you need to adapt to it - at first, the cabbage flies in different directions
And here are pictures of Carlosi, Trend, and a comparison of Trend with Decuc.

In width, Berner and Decuk are absolutely the same, in height, Berner is just a little higher:

Yes, but try to shove a hundred pages! And even more already. Right now, I'll see what I have of my products, maybe I will find something to rub for a sample.
Sandy
azaza thanks again for the answer and the pictures, I have a different size 37 by 14, Prima is the same, and Trend is less than Prima?

This is good news, did you buy an additional 10 mm nozzle?
Venta
Sandy, the handle cannot be used as a footboard) In terms of legs, your decock wins. Berner has a different approach - type graters are attached to a special car who likes to cut horizontally.

Well, if I put it on the table - it lies with a slight slope, a hill, and if you need to cut a little - then, in principle, it is possible without a basin.

But I prefer to hold the grater while working while standing)
kavilter
Yes, there are 10 mm. and add. boxing, otherwise there is nothing to keep it.
But I often use 3.5 mm (I like carrots on it) and 7 mm - for onions
Sandy
Oh, and figs with this leg, but on Prima do onion cubes are made?
For cubes, I have another contraption, if there are a lot of vegetables like a vinaigrette or Olivier, so I cut it in it, but for the sake of one onion I don't want to get it.
azaza
There are three thicknesses of cutting with knifeless inserts: the outer ones are the two sides of the insert included in the Trend set, in the center is the back of the plug. Personally, I would like to be even thicker - the maximum is too thin for slicing eggplant zucchini "bast shoes".
And here is Carlosi's work:
Grater Burner (2)
The cabbage turned out to be ugly, because in the refrigerator there was a tiny piece of cabbage that was not cut the last time. Usually it turns out prettier.
Sandy
Great! Is a circle with a lattice inside being made or do you need to buy an additional nozzle?

I have no Prima, I cannot compare. I learned the size of the residuals from the discussion, and what is really there
However, I did not claim and do not intend to do this that Prima is worse. Not at all! They are just a little different. But in Trend I am not satisfied with only the absence of a thicker knifeless cut. Otherwise, it is perfect. Everyone chooses a model for their own needs and tastes. I am happy with the choice, I have never regretted it.
azaza
For the grate, you need to buy a separate waffle grater.
Sandy

Well, nothing will have to cut the grating with DECOKel, I just wanted to fuse my DECOKs, over time you can buy a Berner grating
Sandy
This is this one, did I understand correctly?

It turns out not so beautiful on DECOK

and on Prima cubes are made from onions?
I didn’t, I always rub it on a straw, but it itself falls apart into cubes
azaza
This one is also possible. But this is Deco-Star, it is more expensive and worse cuts the cords. There is a waffle Classic - it is simpler, cheaper, narrower, but cuts better. However, it has a drawback: the insert is attached symbolically, it tends to fall out. But during work it keeps normally (it is pressed by a vegetable and does not crawl anywhere).
Sandy
And what is it called, that I did not go like this ...
Furshet store on Starovokzalnaya, you are also from Kiev, maybe there are also their branches where Berner is sold

I like VIP-4 - on any insert - you can get several thicknesses.

The trend bought only the base and insert 1.6, because there is no such insert in Prima and Vipe-4.

Well, what can I say - I probably wasted money on it, in the presence of a small thickness on the VIP, it turned out to be not so necessary, I am calmly satisfied with the VIP insert at 3.5 at the thinnest thickness.

And my Trend lies with 1 insert only 2 times used deep in the cupboard ... I use VIP for all occasions
Sandy
azaza, and the insert is knifeless, this is the one you wrote about - the insert is a stub?

On the knifeless insert there are 4 cutting thicknesses (the largest is also about 5 mm) + the knifeless insert serves as a plug.

There are 2 thicknesses on the 3.5 and 7 mm inserts. Conventionally, the positions of "bars" (thicker) and "cubes" (thinner)
On the "bars" only bars are cut, in the "cubes" position you can cut cubes (more precisely, diamonds, you just need to adjust the holder to turn it correctly) or the same bars, but thinner. Therefore, by inserting a 3.5 mm insert in the "cubes" position, you can easily replace the 1.6 mm insert, which is not included in this set.

If you buy a 10 mm insert, there will be only 1 bar position.

Onion cubes - why not?) Cut it to your health) And it is not necessary to put cubes on the position - it will be placed into cubes on the "sticks" too)

Cubes work best with raw vegetables. Small, for Olivier will not go, although who like it. But boiled vegetables are problematic, boiled vegetables are too soft (especially potatoes), they break, not even with a grater, but with the pins of the holder.

The waffle is more for the beauty of table setting, it is very nice to cut cucumbers with a wire rack and apples, it is little used, but very beautiful. More functional would be Rocco or Carlos, especially for the winter, I think so. And buy a waffle closer to summer. Although the very waffle itself, because at the point where I bought the main set of Rocco and Carly was not, so I took the waffle.
