Moussaka in Bulgarian

Ingredients

Minced meat 600 g
Carrot 1 PC
Bulb onions 1 PC
Bulgarian pepper 1 PC
Potatoes 800 g
Egg 3
jelly mlyako (if you are not in Bulgaria, then any fermented milk product: kefir, yogurt, etc.) 200 ml
Water 100 ml
Spices for meat (I have hops-suneli) taste
Vegetable oil for frying Little

Cooking method

  • We ate musaku according to this recipe in Bulgaria. After grilled chicken and other heavily fried foods, moussaka was a balm for a jaded stomach. A very tender dish, it just melts in your mouth.
  • I cooked in a multicooker Brand 37501. Finely chopped onion, pepper, grated carrots. Cut the potatoes into small cubes. Fried the onion in oil until transparent, added carrots, pepper, then minced meat. Stirred, added salt, spices, stewed until the minced meat changed color. The main thing is to break large lumps of minced meat.

  • In Bulgaria, we ate it with local sour milk, at my home with sour cream, I with yogurt. I used to do it in the oven in layers, potatoes, minced meat, potatoes, first stewed with water, and watered an omelet 10 minutes before the end.

I recently arrived from Bulgaria, went looking for sour cream from them, and everywhere only Kiselo mlyako. We translated it as kefir, that is, sour milk, somehow we didn't want kefir and therefore no one bought it for testing.

In fact, it is tasty, it looks like a thick, homogeneous yogurt, but in fact it is considered to be yogurt.

It is unclear with Bulgarian pepper: according to the text of the recipe, it is finely chopped and fried with the rest of the vegetables and minced meat in oil, and in the top photo the pepper lies in large slices separately from the moussaka. You have to understand that these slices of raw (?) Pepper are in addition to fried, how is the culinary presentation of the dish?
Melme
I added slices of fresh pepper just for a bright spot in the photo. It is not necessary to put it.

I put in exactly 2 times more vegetables (potatoes do not count) and did not regret it. I added water to kefir according to the recipe. In sl. times I will not, because as a result of too much liquid.
Cooked in a Brand 6050 pressure cooker
Fried vegetables on Frying Vegetables. I added the minced meat and turned on the Fry-meat, stirring so that the minced meat is evenly fried. I added potatoes, kefir with an egg and closed the lid (high pressure) and cooked in the Meat mode. Default time.

It turned out delicious! Thanks for the recipe. The truth is asking for something else here. Can add tomatoes to the sl. time.
Melme
Glad you liked it. If cooked with tomatoes, tell me how best.
