Is it without a lid? And does a milk cooker need a lid?
Olga VB
irisska, I don't know about the cover, opened a topic, everything can be discussed there.
There are girls who held it in their hands.
Personally, I don't need a lid, but if it does, that's fine too.

And so far I have abandoned the milk cooker, or rather I cook only milk in it. We just don't want to sell stainless steel, I have aluminum and even from ancient times, after one porridge I soak it for three more days, since it is not washed at all. I'm thinking of buying a saucepan for a water bath, I don't know if it's worth it, the price of the saucepan. 65-75 eur. What do you think there will be a worthy replacement?

Girls, can you tell me, after boiling milk in a milk cooker, how does a thick stuck layer remain at the bottom in a saucepan?
Pasteurization will be more accurate. Milk does not boil in a milk maker, in the usual sense ... It remains, but not thick, as it would be more correct to put it, a thin layer like foam. I really love to scrape it with a spoon and eat it ..
LudMila
notka_notka,
Natasha, I once had an aluminum milk cooker in Soviet times, I remember that after milk there was a small layer at the bottom of it, but not "crispy", but just white and thin.

Girls, would you like to try "exotic" cereals?
Rice porridge with coconut flakes.
🔗
So I cooked:
rice - 0.5 mst
water - 2 mst
coconut flakes - 40 gr (there was so much in the package)
dried orange peel - a pinch
salt and sugar to taste.
All this was loaded into a milk cooker, mixed and cooked until rice is cooked. Then she let it brew for 20-30 minutes.

The porridge has an exotic taste, pleasant coconut aroma. You can not add oil to porridge, it is enough in coconut flakes. Adjust the porridge liquid at your discretion.
This porridge is suitable for those who have a cow's milk intolerance.

And here is the original recipe, but I didn’t dare, or rather, it’s just not ripe, but it is worthy of attention.

rice - 1 tbsp
water - 2 tbsp
coconut flakes - 200 gr
vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. l
grated lemon zest - 1 tsp
grated ginger - 1/2 tsp
ground black pepper
and salt to taste.
Fry the rice in vegetable oil until transparent, pour in boiling water, bring the rice to a boil, add coconut flakes and zest, boil in a pan for 10-12 minutes, season with ginger and cinnamon, close the lid and cook for another 15 minutes over low heat.

This porridge can be just as well cooked in any multicooker.
Mirabel
SvetaThanks for the recipe! I will definitely do it in your version! we love coconut very much.
And if the water is mixed with milk? What do you think?
Wildebeest
Mirabel, Vika, for me, neither milk nor butter is needed in this porridge. We make milk from coconut, and when it settles, there is enough cream. If you like coconut, then you can add more shavings.
vernisag
Sveta, interesting porridge Soon post, I will cook necessarily Nada will be packed with shavings, go to Auchan
Will it be tasty without the zest? I'm allergic to citrus fruits ...
Wildebeest
vernisag, Ira, according to the original recipe, there is lemon peel, I put in an orange peel, but I want to say that the taste of coconut predominated in the porridge. Of course, the zest is optional.
Wildebeest
Here, too, an interesting porridge turned out, I believe that coconut chips can be identified here too.
Porridge "Home" from millet and corn flour
The recipe is taken from the same book "Delicious Porridge".
Original recipe:
millet - 150 gr.
water - 1 liter
corn flour - 4 tbsp. l
sl. oil - 60 gr.
salt to taste
cottage cheese - 100 gr.
any jam - 100 gr.
Pour the washed millet into boiling salted water and bring to half-readiness. Next, add all the sifted corn flour, mix and cook until tender. Season with butter at the end of cooking.
Pour cottage cheese with jam, punch with a blender and pour over the porridge before serving.

I did it my own way, without cottage cheese and jam, halved the proportions.
millet - 75 gr.
water - 0.5 liters
corn flour - 2 tbsp. l.
salt and sugar to taste
butter was added on a plate.

I set the washed millet, salt, sugar to cook in a milk cooker, when it seemed to me that the millet was almost cooked, I added corn flour. Mix everything well with a whisk and add orange zest. The porridge turned out to be tender and unusual in taste. I didn't use cottage cheese with jam.
By the way, adjust the porridge liquid to suit your addictions.

mur_myau
gawala,
I wanted to sell the Kaiserhoff after buying the debuyer, but it turned out that a small biovin ham fits perfectly in it. That's how the kit is generally. Up to the ears.

I once bought books in the world (there was no cover in the kit, but there was a funnel for water).
kaporter
I bought a still Soviet milk cooker for 2 liters. While I was reading the topic, I also ordered a 3-liter Soviet aluminum bath, and a friend will also bring a water bath made of enameled ones, also from Soviet times.

Two remarks, as it were, next to the topic. I boil milk in a steel saucepan with a thick bottom. To prevent it from escaping, I use a stainless steel watchdog. If at the very end you do not set the fire to maximum, then you cannot escape in any way.Only if the fire is at its maximum, and the foam has grabbed, then only then can it escape, but this must be done very hard. Then, so that not so much protein settles on the bottom and this film is minimal, you just need to rinse the pan before boiling milk with plain cold water. Works pretty well.

Admin, Tatiana, bought a milk cooker after reading Temko. I have a question: how to make it not whistle so much? Yesterday I cooked oatmeal porridge with spelled groats - so my husband prayed - buy the same one, but without a whistle!
Elena Bo
After the whistle has blown, set the heat to minimum. You can remove the whistle, but then the water poured into the spout will evaporate faster.
Admin

THANK YOU, Lena already answered for me
Knor
anaviAfter the first use, I dug a hole in the whistle, enlarged it. Now on low heat it does not whistle at all, and when it boils it can whistle a little. I, too, could not stand so much whistle from your husband, I understand

And, most importantly, you cannot refuse such a masterpiece, as it turned out, a saucepan! : spiteful: Such gruels are obtained - do not get up to die, they did not stand next to multicooker ...
notka_notka
Chubby, Sveta, DeBayer gently whispers :) and does not whistle at all. A very soulful saucepan, so heavy, solid. It is convenient to pour water, there is a water level indicator and it evaporates very slowly.

Good afternoon, girls! Can you please tell me which milk cooker is better / more convenient / better quality de bueyr or tescoma? I've already broken my whole head, I can't choose
Thank you in advance!
Admin

Now, we have found care
We choose the one that suits the whole family - the volume for the number of servings, so that there is a whistle and, preferably, a lid.

And so, the principle of the milk cooker is the same everywhere - it is a water bath for boiling milk, cooking cereals
This is a complex device called a multicooker-pressure cooker.

I have this for example:

which milk cooker is better / more convenient / better quality de bueyr or tescoma?

Only the owners of both milk cookers can answer this question ...

By the way, I would also be interested to hear the answer, and even better answers)), to this question, for general development, so to speak ...

My DeBayer has a gray pimp that serves as a whistle whistle fell off. There is a metal ball under it, and now, as I pour water, I hold a ball with a gray thing in my hand. Then I close and put everything in place, but it just lies and does not fit tightly. Has anyone else had such a problem? How can I fix it now? Can I glue it?

Please help with advice!
I bought a milk cooker from the Soviet era at a flea market
Milk cooker - cooking in a water bath

But the trouble is, when I heat the milk cooker, bring the water in the walls to a boil, then water pours out through that hole, pouring over the stove.I tried pouring water so that there was less water between the walls - it doesn't help. When the water between the walls boils, it pours out of the spout.
Elena Bo
When the water boils, you need to dodge it to a minimum.
