Creamy green pea soup

Ingredients

Canned green peas (frozen) 1 kg
Onion 500 g
Cream 10% 200 ml
Salt
Vegetable oil 3 tbsp. l.
Flour 2 tbsp. l.
Meat or chicken broth (water) 2 - 2.5 liters

Cooking method

  • Cut the onions into half rings, sauté in vegetable oil until transparent, add flour, mix well, add hot broth (boiling water, if the lean version), mix well again, add green peas (set aside 3 tablespoons), salt, if required, bring to a boil, cook for 5 minutes. Smash with a blender. Add cream, set peas, bring to a boil, turn off.

  • Serve with sour cream, herbs, croutons (we eat with matzah)

  • This soup can also be prepared with frozen peas, after boiling it or increasing the cooking time in the company of onions and flour
