More information on steam cleaners
What can be cleaned with a steam cleaner?Steam cleaners can be used anywhere: for cleaning hard surfaces, cleaning the bathroom, toilet and kitchen, cleaning glass, mirrors or even furniture surfaces, as well as ironing and maintaining textiles. The 9 examples below will clearly illustrate the correct operation of the steam cleaner and the instructions to be followed.
It should be said that the result of the first use of a steam cleaner may not fully satisfy your expectations, since there may be traces of previously used cleaning agents on the surfaces. We therefore recommend that you carry out a so-called general cleaning first. To do this, it is best to wipe the entire surface once or twice with a nozzle with a napkin, which allows you to completely eliminate traces of cleaning agents.
Tip: Check on an inconspicuous area. Before starting cleaning, check in a hidden area to ensure that the color is fast. This applies mainly to textile materials (upholstery, velvet, carpets, etc.) or leather. Woolen rugs should not be steam cleaned. To recognize possible color changes or deformations, it is necessary to wait until the test area is completely dry.
Removal of fatty deposits:1. Stainless steel looks attractive only if there is no grease on it. You will achieve the best cleaning results with a soft plush cover and an additional cloth.
2. If a persistent fatty film has already formed, you cannot do without intensive wiping of the surfaces. In this case, a constant flow of steam should be maintained.
3. The cover gradually absorbs fat. Therefore, you should replace it periodically.
4. Process the surface alternately - section by section: in one hand - a nozzle, in the other - a clean cloth.
5. To remove streaks, steam the surface and polish it with a microfibre (soft, highly absorbent) cloth.
Cleaning of cookers: 1. Glass ceramic hobs are a major challenge for many cleaning methods - but not for steam cleaners! An additional stainless steel spiral is put on the round brush. You can purchase it from any household goods department.
2.No worries: the combination of mechanical processing with steam helps to avoid scratches on the glass surface - in this case, steam forms a reliable sliding layer. The joints and edges of the glass ceramic panel can be cleaned with a brush attached to the spot nozzle.
3. A round brush with scraper is ideal for cleaning gas stoves. The heat-resistant polymer bristles of this special brush allow you to easily remove sticky dirt from lime and burnt grease, even from hard-to-reach places. Finally, as with glass ceramic panels, the surfaces should be wiped dry.
Advice: a heavily soiled surface should be steam treated with the utmost care and allowed to get wet. Soaked dirt can be removed more easily and, in addition, moisture creates a sliding layer for use with a stainless steel coil.
Cleaning hard-to-reach joints:1. For good cleaning of joints, joints and other hard-to-reach areas, use a spot nozzle with a small round brush.
2. Direct steam treatment combined with intense mechanical friction removes even the most stubborn dried dirt.
3. After steam cleaning, wipe dry with a tissue. Be careful when cleaning joints with silicone seals: limit yourself to brief steam treatment.
Cleaning of plumbing fixtures:1. To avoid scratching the chrome-plated and stainless steel fittings, use only a point nozzle to clean them. Bring it close to the object to be cleaned and wait for the lime to dissolve. If it still does not dissolve or is in a hard-to-reach place, place a brush on the nozzle. A brass brush is also perfect for this. Treat the area with intense steam shots.
2. Thick layers of limescale should first be moistened with vinegar and allowed to work for about 5 minutes.
3. Regular steam treatment prevents the formation of lime deposits.
Tiled floor cleaning:1. If stubborn dirt is present, clean the surface of the ceramic tiles with a floor nozzle. Its brushes provide mechanical separation of stubborn dirt.
2. For periodic cleaning, as well as final cleaning in the previously described case, the nozzle is covered with a napkin. Fold the strap so that it protrudes slightly over the edges of the attachment and secure it tightly in the clamps. To do this, use a soft napkin.
3. After turning on the steam, continuously move the nozzle back and forth; continuous steam is not required. To thoroughly clean the joints between tiles, move the nozzle both transversely and diagonally to the joints.
Tip: Young children are eager to taste everything. Therefore, cleaning agent residues, which are potential allergens, can enter the child's body. Using a steam cleaner prevents this danger for your family because, unlike solutions of cleaning agents, steam does not leave any residue on surfaces.
Cleaning laminate floors:1. Using a steam cleaner equipped with a steam flow regulator, you can also clean laminate or parquet (but not rubbed with mastic!). After setting the steam consumption to a minimum, treat using two wraps (= 4 layers) to reduce the mediocre effect of steam on the surface.
2. The SC 1702 should only be used in steam mode. Avoid keeping the nozzle in one place for a long time and the formation of water puddles. If you follow these recommendations, moisture quickly evaporates, and no streaks remain on the floor.
Tip: We recommend vacuuming the floors before steam cleaning. Laminate floors should only be cleaned with complete confidence that they have been installed and glued in accordance with all the rules.
Tip: Cleaning the wipes: The wipes (wraps) used for steam cleaning can be washed at 60 ° C.However, you should not use fabric softeners because they reduce the fabric's ability to absorb dirt and moisture.
Cleaning windows (using the window cleaning attachment included in the set of extra class machines):
1. When using the steam cleaner for the first time, perform a general cleaning: wipe the glasses with a hand-held nozzle with a tissue stretched around it, then wipe them with a dry tissue. Tip for window cleaning in winter: Pre-spray cold glass panes with a steam jet from a distance of about 5 cm.
2. Then steam the glass surfaces with a window washer attachment and remove the remaining moisture with the rubber tie of this attachment, moving it from top to bottom.
3. If it is necessary to clean the glass from the outside, it is necessary to pay attention to the safety requirement: since the steam cleaners are intended for indoor work, they should not be used outdoors. Therefore, when carrying out work, the device itself must be located indoors.
4. Re-cleaning the windows is much easier: steam all glass on the inside and outside using a window cleaning attachment that runs from top to bottom. The distance is about 10cm.
5. Dry the window with a rubber tie, also movable from top to bottom and, finally, in the lateral direction at the bottom of the glass. To avoid streaking, wipe the rubber tie dry after each track.
6. If water drops remain on the surface after applying the rubber screed, remove them with a cloth.
Refreshing clothes: Refresh and clean your clothes in minutes with the textile care attachment. This attachment is equipped with a special tool to remove hair and lint from garments. With it, you can easily smooth out wrinkles in curtains or clothes hanging on a hanger, as well as remove stubborn odors.
