Barley porridge in an electric pressure cooker

Category: Pressure cooker

Ingredients

Pearl barley 2 glasses
Water 900 ml
Bulb onions 1 PC
Garlic several teeth
Salt taste

Cooking method

  • Girls, yesterday in a pressure cooker I cooked pearl barley porridge for awesome goodies.

  • To do this, first, two measuring glasses of pearl barley were fried in a pan until the smell of fried sunflower seeds appeared. An awesome scent was in the kitchen.

  • All this was poured over 900 ml of water, put a whole medium-sized onion there and left a few cloves of peeled garlic. Salt - to taste, for me it is better to add salt on a plate.

  • Time 40 minutes. After the end of cooking, the pressure did not relieve, but simply turned off the SV and left the whole thing in a saucepan until morning.

  • Porridge is mortality.

  • In the morning, I just threw out the onion and left the boiled garlic alone.

  • Already on the plate, I added a piece of ghee to the porridge. Well, it's delicious.

Time for preparing:

40 minutes.

The wildebeest appetizingly painted everything, try nadot, but it turned out liquid or crumbly? And how did the garlic harmonize? It's just the first time I've heard about garlic in porridge.

I really like pearl barley porridge with garlic and onions, but I really finely chop the onions, rub carrots .. well, as for pilaf. But I never fried barley !!! Thanks for the idea, I will definitely try

The porridge turned out to be not crumbly, and not a mess.

I use measuring cups from a multicooker, pressure cooker, and multi-hooter. They are all the same volume - 160 ml.
By the way, the last two times I cooked barley porridge for 900 ml, and for 1000 ml. I didn't notice a big difference, but the groats were already from another manufacturer.

Girls, did you soak the barley beforehand?

Tell me, on what mode did you cook? I soaked the barley tonight, I will cook in the morning. I don't have the "barley" mode, I want to try on "legumes". Do you think this mode will work?
