Ingredients

Stale bread (hunk) 6 pcs.
Apple 1 PC.
Butter 60 g
Jam (any, to taste) 70 g
Milk 1/3 Art.
Sugar 50-100 g

You will need a rectangular baking dish to make the cake. Cut the bread into slices that fit the shape. The bread should fit snugly to cover the bottom of the pan. Spread 30g butter over the first 3 slices of bread.

Wash the apple thoroughly under running water, dry it, peel and cut into thin slices.

Place the prepared bread slices in the pan with the butter facing up. (I cooked half of the portion, because part of the form remained free). Spread half the jam on a layer of bread. Top with apple slices and sprinkle with half of the total sugar.

Brush the other three slices of bread with butter and jam. Then dip each slice with the non-jam side into the milk.

Spread the slices of bread on the apple layer, moistened side up. Sprinkle with sugar and spread the remaining butter over the top of the bread.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 C for 25 minutes. I baked at 200 C on the second level of the oven.
