Girls, which is better to take the used HD 9241/40 or the new Gemlux GL-AF-15? There are a lot of good reviews about Philips on the forum, but they were confused by the reviews on the network that it smokes a lot and it is imperative to put something (foil), otherwise the fat gets on Teny and smokes like a steam locomotive ... ... ...

I only smoked once when I roasted a fatty chicken.
A certain amount of fat will still get to the heating elements, albeit in the form of steam, but there are no problems with this.

Thanks for the quick response. Philips, as they say, is almost new this year, the difference with the new Gemlux is about 1 thousand, it turns out Philips with a big discount from the price of the new one. Is it ok with a mesh basket? In principle, there is an opportunity to buy a frying pan in Europe.

I only fry in the basket crackers, potatoes and so on. Well, more fish steaks. Everything else is just in the pan.

She's awesome !!!

Well, it's me ... Everyone has their own preferences.

Mine are both mechanical: black and silver and white and lilac. They are already six years old.

I read the Dutch reviews for this Philips model, there are many complaints about the electronics and build quality. And then the seller wrote that the fan was changed under warranty, so I definitely won't take such a Philips. Now the question is what kind of air fryer to take then - Gemlux has a good volume, on the other hand, only an insert-lattice and it turns out that the product can come into contact with the "boiler" more often .... There are also Redber candidates, the reviews are good, there is where to buy it, but the volume is smaller. We have 3 eaters, my husband and I and my son are 4.5 years old. Enough or not ... .... I've already broken my whole head.

lenatje, I do not want to offend you in any way and do not consider it as "hitting". I just can't stay silent when I read such nonsense. Where to put the foil? AF prepares by circulating air around the product. If you try to put the foil (on top?), It will simply be blown away by the wind, it will stick to the heating element and start burning.

We have excellent practices in this thread, how to cook fish, poultry and meat in AF to avoid smoke, splashes and so on. This is no longer an AF flaw, but an incorrectly selected cooking technology.

Electronics keeps the temperature better, it walks less. On the German Amazon there was a review with measurements even.

Excellent warranty service.

I'm not trying to persuade you to take Philips, I just ask you to separate the wheat from the chaff.

I put the foil underneath the basket just to wash the pull-out bowl less. I never cover the top.

Thanks for the detailed answer.
Foil / paper is put down directly under the product on the basket - there are a lot of places about it, so I wrote.A lot of people advise taking a grill pan right away and using it more than a basket for the same reasons (so that the product does not bake to the wire rack, etc.). On this forum, I have studied almost all the sections about air fryers :)
I perfectly understand the principle of operation of the device, once I was among the first in shaggy years to acquire an airfryer :)
And I have a good attitude to Philips, after all, the Dutch Royal Company, and I have been connected with Holland for many years at work, but the reviews on this model about electronics and in such a quantity personally alarm me.
I definitely decided not to take this copy (albeit at an attractive price), because I can't check everything on the spot, and for the full price I see no reason to take the same new Philips air fryer for myself. Let it be for now.

I will study more about her, there were complaints about the coverage.
Of course, I understand that there is no perfect device, especially from the cheaper segment, but I still want to have less trouble after the purchase.

Ah, then I'm calm. Good luck with your choice and be sure to come brag about what you choose.
