Gulbishnik

Ingredients

potatoes 1 kg.
cottage cheese 100 g
sour cream 120 ml + 1 tbsp. l.
flour 1 tbsp. l.
egg 1 PC.
brisket 150 g
turnip onion 1 PC.
dill bundle.
salt taste
pepper mix taste

Cooking method

  • GulbishnikPeel the potatoes, boil them in salted water. Make mashed potatoes.
  • GulbishnikDice the onion. Cut the brisket not coarsely.
  • GulbishnikHeat the pan, add the brisket. Allow some fat to melt. Heating should be low.
  • GulbishnikOnce you've melted some fat, add the onion.
  • GulbishnikFry over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the brisket is tender and the onions are caramelized. Season with salt and pepper.
  • GulbishnikPunch the egg, sour cream and cottage cheese with a blender until smooth.
  • GulbishnikAdd a spoonful of flour. Mix. Flour can be either wheat or rye.
  • GulbishnikPour onion with brisket and fat into puree. Mix.
  • GulbishnikPour in the milk-egg mixture, add chopped dill.
  • GulbishnikMix. If necessary, then salt.
  • GulbishnikTransfer the mass to a greased frying pan or mold. Flatten. Grease the top with sour cream.
  • GulbishnikPut in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Serve the ready-made gulbishnik as a side dish or as an independent dish.

Note

Gulbishnik (gulbishniki) is a traditional dish of Belarusian cuisine. It is made from mashed potatoes with the addition of dairy products, bacon, cottage cheese. Perhaps adding an egg and necessarily flour. Flour can be added while frying lard and onions, just add to mashed potatoes or make as I do. The composition of such a casserole and the number of ingredients are placed arbitrarily. Gulbishniks are: dairy, curd, poppy.
I have a kind of mixture of curd and milk. The recipes are spied in the book "Cuisine of the Peoples of the USSR".
