Ingredients

Flour (I have 1s) 280g
Cane sugar (or regular) 65-100 g
Butter (cold) 115 g
Baking powder 1 tsp
Soda 1/2 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Spice mixture (ground: cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger) optional 1-2 tsp
Pumpkin puree (from baked pumpkin) 115 g
Molasses molasses (I have honey) 1 tbsp. l
Egg CO 1 PC
Cream, yogurt (I have sour cream) 3 tbsp. l
Vanilla extract 2 tsp

Cooking method

  • Bright, fragrant buns made from pumpkin puree.
  • Like all scones, they are made very quickly.
  • Mix flour, sugar, salt, all spices, baking powder and soda. Grate cold butter (you can from the freezer) into the flour mixture and grind into crumb flakes. For the liquid part, add molasses (honey), egg, cream (sour cream), vanilla extract to the pumpkin puree. Beat until smooth.
  • Pour the liquid part into the flour and quickly knead the loose dough. Put it on a baking sheet with a teflon mat sprinkled with flour, flatten it with your hands into a rectangular layer 1.5 cm thick.For the convenience of forming, you can also sprinkle the top of the layer with flour. Cut into squares or triangles.

  • Spread the cut pieces all over the sheet so that there is a distance between them - scams need space to grow.
  • Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes until a dry match and even browning.
  • Finished scones can be covered with icing of powdered sugar and cream, or simply sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Note

The amount of spices in the dough can be reduced. In my opinion, there are too many of them in the original recipe! Here's a complete list: 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger, 3/4 teaspoon ground cloves, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg.
