As promised, I prepared a new master class on making a stencil for sprinkling with flour to protect the non-working edges of the dumplings from flour. The current master class is much easier to concept and use than my earlier MK, also for making a stencil.
we will make such a stencil
The general principle of making a stencil is applicable to all types of dumplings. I will make a stencil for a 19-seat dumpling maker, otherwise the girls have already started receiving their dumplings from China.
In terms of time, the production of the stencil itself took me 50 minutes, if you have no experience it will take a little longer. But making a stencil is very simple. There will be a lot of photos with comments, but all stages of production are reflected in detail and clearly. Again, it's very simple to do!
The stencil itself is made of plastic non-woven! serving napkins, of which everywhere in bulk. I bought these napkins at Fixprice at the counter, where all the goods were 50%, that is, 25 rubles per napkin. The main thing is that the napkin should not be woven, but plastic and elastic. I have these napkins.
These are the tools and materials we need:
1 sheet of A4 plain office paper
Any pencil, but soft is better.
Rubber band-eraser-gag
Any ruler
any stationery scissors
straight manicure scissors with a sharp tip or a stencil cutter knife (not required at all)
Masking tape or any tape
Any double-sided tape, I took a narrow one, it's not important.
We take the dumplings
We cover it with a sheet of paper so that the center of the sheet, if possible, lies as if in the middle of the dumplings.
Here, very neatly sticky masking tape is attached to a sheet of paper literally 3 mm of paper.
We carefully attach the masking tape to the dumpling maker so that the sheet does not have distortions relative to the center of the dumpling maker, as this is important.
Turn the dumplings over and fix the sheet to the dumplings with tape
We bend one corner of the sheet and fix it with tape to the inside of the dumplings. Our task is to wrap the dumpling maker with a sheet, fix this sheet in the center and, moreover, so that the sheet is very secure, directly reinforced concrete attached to the dumpling maker and the sheet does not wiggle anywhere at all and does not move even by 1 mm.
here all 4 corners of the sheet have already been securely fixed.
The dumplings were turned over to face them and they lightly patted the entire surface of the sheet with their palm. the edges are already beginning to appear.
we begin to trace the slate part of the pencil along the edges of the dumplings clearly protruding through the paper
outlined all the edges we need
now we begin to carefully unpack the dumplings from a sheet of paper. Carefully.
carefully release, being careful not to tear and accidentally stick the sticky piece of tape to the paper.
everything, a sheet of paper was freed from the dumplings
Cut off the original two pieces of tape with scissors strictly along the edge of the sheet
cut off
start cutting the corners of the sheet like this
cut the corners of the sheet
Now on the front side of the sheet we add an edge three millimeters wide, we need it so that our stencil fits neatly on the body of the dumpling maker, and does not stand on the tops of the edges (remember, we traced the top of the edge-mountain with a pencil, and we need the stencil lay on the mountainside)
now we begin to draw a green field of 3 mm tolerance around the entire perimeter of our dumplings
This is where all your attention is required. consider points A, B, C, D. Just mark these points on your sheet of paper in the same way. Have you outlined? Ok, let's move on.
Using a ruler, draw a line through points A and B along the entire length of the sheet.
now use a ruler to draw a line across the entire sheet through points C and D
Here's what we should get.
Now let's get to the napkin. We need to make a square napkin from a rectangular napkin and make the two corners of the napkin semicircular for convenience and beauty. Let's see how it's done.
We combine the round edge of the second napkin with the future cutting line on the first napkin, draw a round corner. Convenience and aesthetics in the kitchen are important.
Here's what we got.
And here I deliberately misled and shifted the blank sheet for the stencil relative to the center of the future square napkin. Question: "How to deal with this
hooliganism off-center? "
And here is the method of aiming the exact sight of the stencil in the center. I measured the side of our square napkin and divided it in half. put marks on each side. And she led two straight lines, each strictly in half on each side of the napkin.
now we have combined the sight on the napkin with the sight on the stencil sheet, our black and red lines converged.
Then I pasted double-sided tape (as an example of how you need to stick the tape, in fact, I already had a stencil made a few months ago). It is correct to do this - glued one strip of double-sided tape, immediately removed the protective yellow film, and only then glue the second strip, peel off the yellow strip again and so on all 6 strips. (I have them glued to each other along with a yellow film, you don't do that). the strips were glued, after removing the protective yellow tape
Very carefully aligned the scopes - lines and glued the sheet to the napkin.
Cut the stencil with sharp straight nail scissors or with a stencil cutter knife on a breadboard if available. You can cut it with an ordinary clerical knife on an old wooden board in the absence of small sharp scissors with straight tips (Do not take bent manicure scissors!) Erase the traces of a pencil with an eraser.
It often happens that when you first try on a stencil on a dumpling maker, this stencil stands on its feet, does not lie exactly. In this case, you need to carefully look where you need to trim just a little bit, somewhere 0.5 mm, a little thicker than a hair
And here is the result of labor.
sprinkle the dumplings with stencil flour from a strainer
We took off the stencil and admire the result of our work. Flour is strictly only on the edges of the dumplings, and the edges of the dumplings are clean, so after rolling the dumplings with a rolling pin, we remove the good dough not clogged with flour from the edges of the dumplings and put it back into processing.
And this is how I store my many stencils for dumplings in a transparent blue plastic folder for documents. I glued this folder to the inside of the kitchen cabinet using double-sided tape. Moreover, I deliberately glued the folder so that the inner bottom corner was lower than the outer bottom corner, all so that the stencils did not fall out.
Wow, I did the stencil myself in only 50 minutes, but it takes much longer to post photos and write text. Please make stencils, it's very simple, but how convenient!
