Whole Oat Garnish Porridge (Panasonic SR-TMH 18)

Ingredients

Whole oatmeal 1 measuring cup
meat broth 500 ml (can be replaced with water), I took the broth from the freezer without defrosting it.
salt taste

Cooking method

  • We put all the products in a multicooker, turn on the "Stew" mode for 2 hours.
  • After this time, we get a delicious porridge-side dish for various uses - for breakfast and dinner, as a side dish to other dishes, or like me - as an addition to the dough when making bread.
  • Bon Appetit!

Note

Oat groats. It is produced from oats in the form of oatmeal itself (not crushed and flattened), cereals-flakes "Hercules" and highly nutritious flour-oatmeal. Oatmeal is rich in protein (11.9%), and surpasses all other types of cereals in fat content (5.8%). It is noteworthy that the fat in it does not go rancid due to the presence of antioxidant substances in oats.

Oatmeal is used for making soups, mashed soups, slimy soups, cereals, meatballs, jelly.
"Hercules" flakes are made from polished oatmeal; as a result of flattening, it turns into thin flakes that are easy to boil. Within 10-15 minutes from "Hercules" you can cook nutritious and tasty porridge.

Tolokno is a flavored oat flour containing more than 12% of highly digestible proteins and more than 1% of fats, some of which contain an anti-sclerotic substance - lecithin. Recommended for baby and medical food.

Alexandra
Admin,

I took them to Temka about healthy eating.

But let it be a side dish not for meat-rub, but for vegetables (grilled or stewed, you can bake). With giant fresh salad with a spoonful of olive oil

I look forward to reporting on baking bread with whole oatmeal!

Before that, I met and fulfilled only the recipe for chopped whole oatmeal, soaked together with other dough ingredients without a portion for 12 hours ...

I often cook milk porridge from whole oatmeal. For one cup of cereal, 5-6 cups of liquid (I have milk plus water), salt, sugar. Sometimes I add a little more milk to the porridge and the porridge standing on the heating to the desired thickness - if I want it thinner. I also cook barley, it needs a little less liquid. But I have milk porridge for breakfast, not a side dish, they are a little thinner.

Admin,
Oh, how interesting, oh ... I'm joining Alexandre, and I'm also looking forward to the recipe for a new bread ...

So, ears perked up, we are waiting!

The result is good, I liked it.
There is a moment that needs to be worked out, I will bake it again - and I will expose

Often I cook milk porridge from whole oatmeal.

And you try to cook in broth

I have a lot of broths in the freezer. So I use it constantly, without defrosting it directly into the multicooker.
The porridge becomes not dry, but oily with a certain taste.
When laying the broth, you can remove the fat layer on top of the broth - the smell will still remain.

I think you won't regret it

What is whole oatmeal? Admin, could you take a picture of him? In our stores (I'm from Kiev), rolled oatmeal is sold, from which I make porridge and cook. I tried to buy whole grains at the bazaar, because it is in a shell, such long grains, I could not boil anything worthwhile. They say that this grain is taken for birds. So I'm totally confused
Admin
Whole oatmeal is a cereal that even looks like barley.

The packaging says "oatmeal"

The cereal looks like this:

Thanks, understood. We only sell rolled oatmeal. I haven't even seen this one

Such a side dish porridge can be made from pearl barley, it turns out no less tasty!

For the cooking recipe, see the Multicooker-porridge topic.

Try to look in cereals, not where Hercules flakes are. Here, too, not everywhere, but you can find it. In addition, cereals are healthier than cereals. Flakes lose a lot during processing

Try to look in cereals, not where Hercules flakes are.

And, moreover, in cereals, on the lowest shelf, where little is visible.

On the upper shelves, as a rule, expensive imported cereals are displayed.

I didn't mean Hercules flakes. We sell groats called PLATED OAT CRUISE. It is slightly different from the Admin photo. I cook it in a cartoon, but it cooks faster - the "milk porridge" mode is enough for it.
Sofim
My groats are slightly different from the one in the Admin photo. Mine is not so elongated - more round, closer to pearl barley. On the program, Milk porridge cooks well, I put it on a timer overnight, it costs half an hour or an hour on heating. This kind of jelly turns out
mish
: wow: And today I cooked barley according to this recipe, I just threw the dried carrots. And then they ate the ready-made porridge with sauerkraut with onions and sprinkled curry and didn’t even feel that pearl barley - so we do not really like it, but here it turned out delicious! I think oatmeal would also be good, but at home after the holidays there was only barley ...
Antonovka
Admin,
and if I cook porridge for 2-3 hours for stewing, and then it will stand for 3-4 hours on heating - will it turn out tasteless? I bought oatmeal specially, but I don’t know how best to make it (I would like to cook for breakfast at night (yes, I’ll cook on water - there’s no broth)
Admin

Antonovka, depending on what you want to get from such an operation

2-3 hours on Stew is enough for the softness of the cereal, I cook for 2 hours from pre-soaked cereals for about 2 hours.

And if you put on the timer, the cereal will be in the water, soaked overnight, in the morning stewing for a couple of hours - it should turn out soft

Antonovka
Admin, I didn’t want it so much. I wanted to put the oatmeal, which was not soaked in advance, but only freshly poured with cold water, for an hour at 12 at night, and eat it at 7 am. It seems like we don't put out on a timer?
Admin

Maybe so to do

Yes? But what about soups and main dishes on the timer during the day are put on the Stew mode?
Antonovka
And, of course, this is a timer, but not the same as, say, milk porridge, so that it is ready at a certain time :)))))))))) By the way, for some reason I am afraid to leave the switched on MB alone during the day

I'm going to put some porridge - thank you very much for your help
Antonovka
Admin,
It turned out to be a very tasty and unusual porridge - it seems to me that I have never eaten this. So - THANKS so much
Admin

Antonovka, it is nice to hear that you have also joined the porridge from IGO-GO-oats

Admin, did not happen to expose? I often put whole oatmeal porridge in a slow cooker at night, but I didn't think of adding it to bread. It is necessary to correct and what proportions? And one more thing: I mainly bake rye-wheat baked, probably oatmeal is not very suitable here?

Can you tell me where who saw this oats? My father is looking for him, he says "the taste of childhood", but I can't find it anywhere. True, in the vicinity of the large stores there is only "okay". There is no such cereal in it. He directly puzzled me with this question, I don't know what to do ...

Lida, you yourself answered your own question with my quote - dunk! The groats are very strong, you need to cook for a long time in a multicooker
