Vinegar 9% 130 g

Cooking method

  • I love this salad for its easy preparation. Everything is very simple.
  • Vegetables are washed, peeled, cut. I used a Berner grater to cut vegetables.
  • The vegetables are mixed.

  • Cooking the marinade.
  • In the early years of preparing this salad, I used tomatoes. For the last three years, I began to use purchased tomato juice. The result is the same, less hassle.
  • Combine tomato juice, salt, sugar, vegetable oil and vinegar. We put on fire, let it boil.
  • We lay vegetables. We press them with a lid, tamping.

  • You get a lot of vegetables. But literally ten minutes pass and the vegetables have already completely entered the pan and settled to the level of the marinade.

  • Fifteen minutes later, as I laid the vegetables, the marinade boiled.
  • We boil for another 30 minutes and the salad is ready.
  • We put it in sterilized jars and close.

Note

Previously, the salad was made without tomato filling. But since my husband prefers all vegetable rolls using tomato, the recipe had to be edited. It turned out what happened. Our family is very happy.
The salad may well be used for making borscht and cabbage soup. Sometimes I do this, but only so that my husband does not know that I am using his cabbage for other purposes.

Helen, the jars were lying around only while photographing so that the salad could be seen, otherwise nothing could be seen behind the tomato filling. Marcella, I tweaked the recipe without tomato sauce. There, 2 tbsp is added to each jar. spoons 5% vinegar.
But in the tomato dressing, I added 9% vinegar. For 12 cans of 800 grams, I don't think 130 grams is a lot. I would also add. But since the recipe has already been tested and more than once, and the taste of cabbage in the end, when eaten, turns out to be excellent, I did not add anything.

Thank you so much for the recipe! Made in 2016 as a preparation for cabbage soup (broth in a slow cooker + potatoes + a can of salad = an excellent first course for "one-two"). She regretted that she had done little. I made a preparation for borscht. But when I cooked borscht in winter, I decided that there was not enough cabbage and "waved" into the salad pot. My husband is very calm about my vegetable preparations.Can eat something, but without much enthusiasm. When I saw your salad, I decided to try it, because I had to attach some vegetables. Made half a portion. There was very little left on a platter that did not fit into the jar. The husband comes, sees the saucer, asks what it is. Tries. And then it began !!!! He demanded to open the can, ate a whole 0.7 l can, without stopping for a moment (and the salad was still lukewarm). I have NEVER in my life seen my husband eat something with such pleasure (and I would even say, with greed). I looked at another can (I closed 7 pieces of 0.5 l and one 0.7 in total), but held back my impulse. It was fantastic !!! Tomorrow I will make a whole portion, I have already measured all the components.
