Ingredients

any meat broth 1.7 liters
large potatoes 3-5 pieces
medium carrots 1 piece
turnip onion 1 piece
lard (any fat or vegetable oil) 100 grams (2-3 tablespoons)
egg 1 piece
flour 3-4 tbsp. spoons
salt taste
greens option

Cooking method

  • We take any meat broth. Today I have chicken, and the meat went into pancakes.
  • Peel and dice the potatoes, carrots, onions, or whatever you like.
  • Cut the bacon into small pieces, dissolve it in a pan. greaves remain, which must be removed.
  • Fry onions and carrots.
  • Dip the potatoes in the broth and cook until half cooked.
  • Today I just did the frying in vegetable oil.
  • While the potatoes are boiling, prepare the dough for dumplings.
  • Break the egg and loosen it. Salt.
  • Add flour, knead soft dough.
  • You may need 3 or 4 spoons of flour. It all depends on the flour and the size of the egg.
  • You don't need to knead well.
  • The dough is soft, may stick slightly.
  • The potatoes are almost cooked, add the fry and, if any, the cracklings.
  • Let it boil until the potatoes are ready.
  • Tear off pieces of dough at random and throw into the soup.
  • When our dumplings surfaced, boil for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add greens and .... get our big spoon!

My grandmother very often cooked dumplings, my mother does not cook them at all, but I do, but rarely. But when I do this, then everyone gets a lot of taste pleasure! You can also pour in an egg. which to pre-shake with a spoonful of broth. Delicious! Recommend.
