Chicken in yellow sauce

Ingredients

A hen 500-600 g
Carrot 100 g
Bulb onions 1-2 pcs.
Flour 15 g (incomplete st. L)
Milk / kefir / cream / any other tasty liquid / water 250-280 ml
Sugar 5-10 g (0.5-1 tsp)
Salt, pepper, garlic, dill, parsley, and other favorite condiments and herbs taste

Cooking method

  • Chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces, fry in a heated bowl (stewpan) without a lid and remove. Pour carrots grated on a coarse grater into the heated fat, mix and add chopped onions. Add oil or fat if necessary. Continue frying, uncovered, until the carrots turn white and the onions turn yellow. Add flour, stir and fry for a few more minutes. Pour in liquid with additives. Let it boil, put the chicken, simmer for another 2-3 minutes under the lid.

You can also use as additives: chopped or grated tomato (correspondingly reducing the amount of liquid), mushrooms, pickled cucumber, bell pepper, quince, cut into small long pieces, etc.

I also cook this sauce for the liver and for meat, only I stew the meat for a longer time.

In our house, according to my decision, they do not eat side dishes, and my husband needs to steam vegetables somehow.
