Marinated herring with orange jam

Ingredients

Salted herring 2 pieces
Orange jam 1 tsp
Vinegar 6% 1 tbsp. l.
Green onions and shallots for garnish

Cooking method

  • Peel the herring of low salt, free it from the bones, cut it into small pieces (about 2.5 cm wide). Soak pieces of herring in vinegar for 10 minutes. In the meantime, chop the shallots in thin half rings, sprinkle with lemon juice if desired. I didn't have shallots, but I had sweet onions. I cut him. Cut the green onion feathers diagonally into rings.
  • Put onion onions in a fan on a plate, put a couple of pieces of herring, gently put orange jam on top. Sprinkle with green onion rings.
  • Serve with white bread. Bon Appetit!

Note

Yesterday I woke up, and this dish stood before my eyes. I decided to try what would happen. In the evening I made orange jam. I won't tell you the recipe, I always cook it by eye, trying and correcting the taste on the go, adding either citric acid or sugar.

And today I started cooking. What can I say about the taste. It will appeal to those who like to combine salty with sweet. I am not a supporter of fusion in the kitchen. But I love the combination of sweet and spicy and sweet and salty. This is where I got it. And pickling the herring in vinegar gives it a sourness and balances the tastes.

Natasha, an interesting combination. Once upon a time I had great respect for herring with chocolate. I'll have to try your version. Thank you!

Natasha, I would never have thought of it probably, it's not mine, but the idea is bold and the photo is beautiful!

I'm a beginner food photographer, I'm just learning. I hope I can.
Yesterday I tried to find a recipe on the Internet, after all, how did I dream about this. But I didn't find it. But I came across a recipe for salmon baked with orange jam. So now it's up to little, to buy salmon or trout.

Ooh, baked, I'll definitely wait for the recipe

Natasha, Bridge, mine! And how did I sleep that ?!
I will replace the vinegar with balsamic, well, and increase the portion, grease the bread a little with butter and put the coffee to cook ...
What about me?
