Ingredients

Minced cod 600-700g
Egg 1
Onion 1 medium onion
Breadcrumbs 3 tbsp. minced spoons
Butter 30g
Mayonnaise or sour cream 2 tbsp. spoons
Cheese (I have Russian) 50g
Butter, breadcrumbs for coating and sprinkling molds
Salt to taste

Cooking method

  • Finely chop the onion and grind with a crust.
  • Beat the egg slightly.
  • Mix the minced meat with onions, bread crumbs, beaten egg, salt.
  • Grease a baking dish with butter, sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Put half of the minced meat. Put butter cut into pieces on it (half the norm).
  • Put the remaining minced meat, brush with sour cream or mayonnaise, sprinkle with grated cheese, put the remaining butter on it, sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  • Preheat the oven to 200-210 degrees. Bake for about 40 minutes.

I am a preschool teacher by education. In my kindergarten childhood, I don't remember fish casserole. But when I went to practice, then I fell in love with this dish. In Murmansk kindergartens, the casserole was prepared with a delicious cheese crust, served with mashed potatoes.
According to the technology, minced meat for kindergarten casseroles is prepared from boiled fish. The layers are poured with béchamel sauce.
I already had raw cod minced meat. And with bechamel (bechamel?) I am not good friends, I always have lumps in it. And then I decided to simplify my task by layering the minced meat with butter - it will give the necessary juiciness and tenderness to the dish. Pounded onions, by the way, too.
But for small children, it is still better to scroll the onion in a meat grinder.
I think this casserole can be made from any low-fat white haddock fish, pollock, pike.
It turned out very tasty, much tastier than I expected.
