Ingredients

turkey meat 1 kg

Cooking method

  • This dish was born in my head and has taken root in my kitchen for a long time. And naturally, from my laziness .. It was, scary to say, almost 21 years ago, my mother was undergoing surgery in the hospital, I was raising my older brother, who broke his leg, and we were morally supported - my brother's best friend (it so happened that his wife just had toxicosis, and she cooked of course, but ....) and my then fiance. That is, I had to feed three men. And at the same time I started a grandiose general cleaning-washing-ironing for my mother’s return, and one day they were brought in that I realized late that I didn’t go to the market, and there’s not much in the refrigerator, and soon a support group would come, they needed to be fed, and brother-plaster leg, fed up with TV and pies, yells asks when to eat and what we will eat .. And I cooked from what was in the refrigerator, since the meat was defrosted. The boys really liked it when their mother arrived, I already prepared this blue specially for her, she, and then everyone really liked it.
  • And today we will cook from this:

  • We clean the meat from veins and films, and cut into pieces.
  • Coarsely cut the vegetables. I chopped the onions and bell peppers on a Berner grater, on the largest insert.

  • To be honest, I was planning to cook in Štebik, but when I cut everything, it turned out that it couldn't fit in Štebik, so I took out a cauldron.
  • Pour vegetable oil into the cauldron, when it warms up, lays out the meat, fry it until a light golden-pink color, salt and pepper a little,

  • Fill everything with water (or broth), let it boil, salt again, add bay leaf, garlic (you can finely chop it, pass it through a press, as you like, this time I put whole cloves) and simmer over low heat until the meat is ready ...

In this case, this is not quite the original recipe, since then I had lamb, and in addition to the above vegetables, there were eggplants and tomatoes, as well as a lot of greens, including basil and cilantro. Then I did not add vegetable oil! The lamb was just chocolate, fatty and tender, and I put it in fat on a heated cauldron, and it was cooked in its own juice.
  • Why am I writing this? Besides, this dish has many variations. I made it with lobio, and cauliflower, and green beans, and added nuts, and cooked without meat at all. Somehow, I, in turn, fried all the ingredients in a separate frying pan in a large amount of oil, threw them on a sieve, then put them in layers in a cauldron and stewed them out. You can cut it as your heart desires, coarsely, finely, in cubes, cubes .. When I bought a BoschKubik, I didn’t crush on it unless only scrambled eggs, and naturally cut vegetables into this dish into small cubes. Bell pepper is better to take multi-colored, the dish turns out to be more elegant. In general, girls and boys, for a real Khlebopechkinets, this recipe is very suitable, since our imagination is exuberant ...

Now I understand that this is a stew with meat. Or without meat, as you like. But the name has still taken root in all newly created families.

Clearly, I have a five-liter Shtebik, while I look at the big one and lick my lips. By the way, I never did it with beef, I even did it with nutria, but somehow I didn't have to do it with beef. But the most favorite option is with lamb.
