FOR FILLING
Bulb onions 500 g
Butter 50 g
Eggs 2 pcs
Cream 100 ml
Flour or starch 1 tbsp. l. (for 1 option) or 3 tbsp. l. (for option 2)
Salt, cumin taste
Smoked products (replaced with pork and sausages) 75 g (increased to 200 g)

Cooking method

  • Yes, the creators of this recipe will forgive me - I decided to change the basis of the pie - the dough no longer climbs. I wanted to try the potato base. The execution of the recipe does not require complete authenticity, so she dared. Moreover, adding more potatoes is quite in the German spirit.
  • 1. If you prepare the base from the dough, you can read in detail here
  • 2. For potato base... You need to peel the potatoes and boil, drain all the liquid, crush. Add oil, eggs, salt, pepper, mix. Lay out the bottom and walls of the base using a pastry syringe (grease the form and cover with paper).
  • 3. Cut the onion into quarters of rings, fry in butter until soft.

  • 4. Put the onion on the base. Beat eggs with cream. If the base is yeast, 1 tbsp. l. flour can be added directly to onions. If the base is potato, 3 tbsp. l. boil starch with eggs and cream until thickened (too liquid talker will flow out through the potatoes). Pour the onion with the egg mixture (you can leave a little mixture to sprinkle the meat).
  • 5. Cut the smoked meats into cubes and put on top, sprinkle with caraway seeds (not added). I used raw pork (cut into pieces and lightly roasted) and homemade sausages.

Note

When cooked with a potato base, you get a complete dish, for example, for dinner. For a tougher base, you can add flour to the potatoes (as my husband thought). With the ingredients given by me, the base turns out to be quite soft, but it keeps its shape. Depends on what you want to get. Dedicated to lovers of juicy onions !!!

The base is baked from pumpkin. The form was fastened with foil and corrected with lentils. The biscuit was baked separately. Chilled on the wire rack. Baked on oiled foil. It came out very tasty !!! It turned out to be quite large, so I divided it into 2 blanks. Then she soaked the cake with pouring for about 30 minutes. Decorated with flowers from mashed potatoes from a regular bag. Onion filling. Top with bacon + sausage (better without it). Pouring - sour cream + mayone + egg! Baked under the grill! The romantic dinner was a success! Thank you dear! The taste is awesome! The view is amazing! I packed the other half. I will do it in the same way, but stuffed with fish + onion + mushrooms.
