Ingredients

Wheat flour 250 g
Brown sugar 60 g
White sugar 50 g
Water 50 g
Butter 60 g
Baking powder 1 \ 2h. l.
Cinnamon (not used) 1 \ 2h. l.
Ginger 1 \ 2h. l.
Cardamom 5 boxes

Cooking method

  • Heat both types of sugar, water, oil in a saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved. Cool down.
  • Remove the cardamom from the boxes, crush in a mortar.
  • Add flour mixed with baking powder to the liquid. sift the cardamom through a fine sieve. Knead a soft and elastic dough.
  • Collect the dough in a bag and refrigerate for 1 hour. I had a day.
  • Divide the dough into 3 parts. Roll each into a thin layer (ideally 1 mm) on a surface slightly dusty with flour and cut out figures from it with molds. Hearts and flowers are standard for "peparkak".
  • Bake in an oven preheated to 200C for about 10 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven.
