Celery pancakes with apple sauce

Ingredients

celery root ~ 300 gr
corn flour ~ 40-50 gr
olive oil ~ 30 ml
apples 2 pcs
horseradish
salt
pepper

Cooking method

  • Peel and grate the celery root. Add flour, butter, mix, salt and pepper to taste and you can bake pancakes. Here I made a small change to the recipe, because if you do it strictly according to the recipe, you cannot form pancakes from this mass, since the mass falls apart. You can seal it with an egg, but I wanted the dish to be lean, so I added a little pineapple juice. You can have any other available, I had a pineapple at hand.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan, put small pancakes with a tablespoon and fry them on both sides for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  • Serve the celery pancakes with applesauce.
  • Applesauce.
  • Peel the apples and seeds, cut them, put them in a saucepan (I did them in mv redmond 01 on the steam program for 15 minutes), pour a small amount of boiling water and bring to softness. When the apples are ready, drain off excess water and beat with a blender until smooth. Cool and add horseradish to the applesauce to taste (I added 3 tsp horseradish to the puree from two small apples).

I liked the pancakes. Celery - flour can be adjusted according to your taste, more - less. I really liked the sauce, I think I can use it in other dishes. In general, surprisingly, it turns out satisfying.

Tatyana, try it for a change. The specific sharp taste of celery is softened by the addition of flour and heat treatment. In my opinion, a very interesting taste is obtained. Of course, you can't eat a lot of such pancakes, and you don't need to. They are nourishing, most in the post.

Galin, in general it was like this. My husband needed to be fed urgently and I cooked it so that he probably ate. There was no time to make the sauce, so I added grated apple to the celery (about 2: 1). There was some mashed potatoes in the refrigerator. Made something like potato zraz: mashed potatoes (no eggs) stuffed with celery and apple (flour and butter, as per recipe). When the potatoes were over, I just fried a celery and apple pancake. Everything turned out very well. The celery flavor is really muted. But to save time, you can really mix celery with an apple right away. There will be more time - I will try separately celery pancakes, separately apple sauce. Thanks for the recipe! Itself would not have guessed !!!!
