It all started when my mother bought a Kenwood 350 bread maker for her anniversary. Testing and subsequent operation showed that the bread in it turns out to be excellent. If so, then we need such utensils in our family. In one of the stores, I came across an inexpensive Gelberk GL 2046 bread maker for only 3000r. On the one hand, an unknown manufacturer and almost complete silence on the Internet scared away, on the other hand, the tempting price and good-looking quality of the stove's workmanship.
The proven Kenwood just physically did not fit in the kitchen, and it cost> 5tyr. It was decided to take a chance. Have bought. They baked bread for a week every other day. The main drawback is an unbaked crust (it was attributed to a hefty viewing window, covering which with a heat insulator of the tack type slightly improved the picture). In addition, in the main programs, for the first 20 minutes after the start of the program, the stove did not even think to knead anything - it just stood and waited for these 20 minutes to pass and only then proceeded to knead.
Then the opportunity arose to give this bread maker to other parents, and to buy a new one ourselves. The choice fell on
Binatone BM-2169 - suited both for the price and for seemingly good reviews, in addition, there was an additional programming mode for 450 buns. We bought this unit yesterday for almost 5000r. Outside, it turned out to be much larger than a Gelberk. Inside, it is practically a clone of it in terms of the size of the chamber, shape and its attachment, blades. The motor hums with absolutely the same sound. We were surprised to find that there was no "pause" mode during program execution. Instead of one large observation window, there are two small ones.
Today we arranged a duel for these two bread makers: in the main (1) program mode, they simultaneously baked 1000g loaves of plain white bread. The recipe was taken from the manual for Gelberk, since it almost completely coincided with that from the manual for Kenwood, and the binaton indicated a very different amount of water and other ingredients. The ingredients were equally loaded into both forms at once, put them in the ovens at the same time and simultaneously pressed "start", setting the maximum dark baking crust.
Cooking time: Gelberk - 3:05, Binatone - 3:15.

The dough rose higher in Gelberk, although the total time was less, both went to BAKE mode with a difference of 10 minutes (gelberk earlier). The baking result is shown in the photo (gelberk - on the left, binaton - on the right).

The crust, as you can see, baked better in the binaton (although they covered the viewing window with an oven mitt in the gelberk), the loaves are the same in terms of their internal structure and taste. ))
Now we don't know which one to give to the parents. )) In Gelberk, in addition to the price, I liked the well-thought-out intuitively understandable control (even our old people can easily figure it out) and compactness, in the binaton there is a golden brown crust and the absence of "braking" after the start. I think additional insulation of the viewing window in the gelberk would solve the problem with the color of the upper crust.
Probably, we will continue the in-depth testing with Binaton.

So this is just not a drawback, but a big plus for the stove! In the first minutes, when there is no kneading, the stove does not just stand there, but evens out the temperature of the products that have been put into it. Panasonic is programmed in the same way.

Admin, this post was almost a decisive factor in the choice of Binaton. Thank you. Hopefully, as you master the navvas of home baking (of course, not without the help of this site), our result will be no worse)).
Anastasia, thanks for the explanation of the "oddities")).
