Cooking method

  • In a saucepan (it is better if it is with a thick bottom), melt the butter,

  • add sifted flour, mix well and cook, stirring constantly, for several minutes, avoiding burning.

  • Remove the pan from heat, add hot milk to it and mix well.

  • Put the pan back on the fire and simmer over low heat until the sauce boils, then add a pinch of salt and nutmeg. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
