Maybe it was already, but I want to show ... If you insert a piece of the ribbed part of the vacuum bag into an ordinary (smooth) meter bag, that is, not over the entire width of the sealed bag, but only into a small part, then you can also vacuumize something. anything in it with ease. The cost price drops sharply!

Girls, help me decide which is better to take Zigmund & Shtain Kuchen-Profi VS-505 or PROFI COOK PC-VK 1080?

I have Zigmund & Shtain. I'm very happy! Take it, you won't regret it ...

Bravo! I sincerely admire the intelligence and resourcefulness of our people!
At least collect and publish in a hotel brochure all the ways that people have come up with so as not to depend financially on insanely expensive corrugated bags!
The day after tomorrow I'm waiting for a vacuum cleaner, and already in advance I'm looking for ways to reduce the price of packages!
Simply masterpiece!

I'll tell you my story .... There were discounts at Ozone at caso. I kept choosing between model 100 for 6500 and tachvak for 5000. I realized that the difference is only a double seam ?? it's not a problem to do it manually. And why overpay ?? Today I made up my mind and ordered a tachvak. And now doubts torment, maybe it was necessary to take the 100th?

Yeah, we tried. Thanks for reminding me. The point is, not all ribbed bags are equally useful. Today I cut off a flap from an extraneous roll and it turned out, but before

It was primitive elementary the first option that I tried in my experiments. And I didn't succeed.
The outside of my bag categorically refuses to be soldered on my vacuum cleaner.
vdv
The tab is soldered or not soldered, in my opinion, depends only on the power of the "soldering iron". If without a tab, then you need to melt two layers, and if with a tab, then three.
You can, as it seems to me, try (who does not solder) an external package to choose from as thin as possible. Other things being equal, melting two thin and one thick layers is easier than three thick layers.
However, my packer is still on its way, I could be wrong.

does not work?)) Because almost everything (including mine) solders a tube in two layers inside a smooth bag.

I don’t know if I have those non-adhesive bags or not. If I find it, then on occasion I will take a photo of the soldered one.

so also plastic can also be different, in terms of melting temperature. As a version. By the way, it's easy to check - if you put it in the oven and add the temperature little by little.
And another version is that the tube is thin, and more pressure falls on it. That is, a long seam does not work - but a short one is easy. The local effort is added to the temperature, as it were.

Good morning girls! I bought a Redmond 021 vacuum sealer with containers, I paid 6200 for the action, I also ordered packages for it on another website, they cost 230 rubles (one package turned out to be 10 rubles each), and now I have a question how much the packages that you buy and suffer with tubes cost , are they really much cheaper?
Gala1301
One-meter bags cost 2.5 rubles and measure 20 x 30 cm. I recently bought a sous-vid and use it often.
I feel sorry for the expensive packages .... and so rolled up in a cheap one and get ready.

Here is a prepared sous vide rabbit (in a cheap bag). I made some stitches just in case.

In all YouTube videos that talk about sous vide (especially if a chef is talking about some kind of chef), they use industrial vacuumizers, just with such packages.
This is now, when sous-vide came to the home kitchen, they began to use household vacuum equipment and ribbed bags.

Well here's a photo:

The photo shows a piece of a ribbed bag.
Since I will torment the rabbit in the sous-vidnitsa for 10 hours, I did several seams below sealed place. I thought, what if the original 3 layers were not very well soldered there and, with such a long heat treatment, they would disperse. I didn't risk it ..... I cut off the excess ...

Ksarochka
Gala1301, Thank you so much. True, I stocked up with packages when I was buying the device. But I really disliked this tube method. The rags were also a little embarrassing, but this is how you can do it with a piece of a bag or a rag.

Ksarochka... as soon as you start experimenting and then actually use the vacuum machine, you will appreciate how great it is that there are alternative options for vacuuming bags. Ribbed bags "did not get enough" ....

As I did not try to apply a simple package with inserts of different width and length, but it did not work, alas. Zigmund & Shtain easily solders all layers, but does not suck, serve it only grooved. True, I used only bags from a roll, that the packer included, perhaps, inserts from corrugated bags from another company would solve the problem. I looked for tubes in stores, I could not find soft ones, the ambush was complete. I wash the used bags for reuse, but at the same time I experience a strange feeling, as if in order to call loved ones in another city, one would have to go to the telegraph office. Well, it doesn't correspond to the time, or what. I want to try to order packages on Ali, it's much cheaper there.
tata-nata
Olyok, I don't have a packer yet, I'm waiting)) I'll try to offer ikea tubes. My children often drink cocktail of them and they are softer compared to the tubes in cafes.
Gingi
Olyok, in the metro there are cheap packages and tubes. On the bread maker there is a collective purchase of CASO vacuum bags (size 40x60 in a package of 25 pieces). It turns out not very expensive.

Good afternoon!
Ellron received 50 today.
There was a question and a doubt ... The fact is that when I just solder package and press the SEAL button, then for some reason the VAC-SEAL button lights up at the same time and the pump starts to work. It works for 5 seconds, after which the pump turns off, its button goes out and only the SEAL button remains lit, which goes out after 3 seconds. The package is normally sealed.
So that's what I don't understand. Why does the pump start to work, because it seems that the sealing button is separate and was created only for sealing without vacuum (the instructions say: "Seals the bag without first evacuating it"), that is, based on this logic, the pump should not turn on?
Or is it already a jamb in my car initially?
Please share how your vacuum seals work in the sealing mode without vacuuming. And then, until the return, the question looms before me ...
Olyok
tata-nata, Gingi, thanks for the advice! We do not have ikea and metro stores, and shipping from Russia to Belarus will negate the cheapness of the purchase. I will look for!

Although I can say that outwardly handsome, an infection! The buttons are clear and comfortable, so I chose between the Caso TouchVac and Ellrona 50. Caso has a difficult control over these sensors.
True, neither cocktail tubes (the tube itself was not soldered inside), nor non-woven material (air was not evacuated), nor pieces of corrugated native film (smooth bags from the Metro were not soldered to their smooth surface) helped in evacuation, alas ... native packages - like clockwork!

Igrig, Igor, I just saw your message ... I have Elron 50. I went and tried it now - I have the same thing - the Vac-Seal button turns on for a couple of seconds - then it goes out, and after a few more seconds Seal goes out. And also with noise - I don't know if it's a pump.

On the last page, I was glad that my Redmond soldered with a shred from another package, although the first tests with other packages (from the kit) were not crowned with success - and the layer was not soldered on the smooth side, and the two smooth sides refused to stick to each other.

And then suddenly it "worked.") I soldered the bags with raisins. Sucked off yes, disgusting. Three times in a row I turned on the suction and pumped out so-so. It's not important to me, because I soldered it. Several days passed, took the bags to look at, stretched the seam, and he ... quietly dispersed. On the smooth side.)))

She cut off the excess, shoved the tube, and from the first second she pulled out everything unnecessary. This is a hundred-year-old, the pack was lying around as unnecessary. Similarly, cheap striped ones from Lenta are soldered, I took a few pieces from someone for testing.

I wrote above in post 4327 that it was also not soldered along a smooth strip. And on Ali, I accidentally saw that some rolls were made of PE + PA, that is, from polyethylene and polyamide. True, a little corrugation is different. But the bags that we use can also be made by coextrusion from two different materials (and even from more materials), and there can be 5 and 7 layers of these films. So in our case, the outer smooth layer can be made, for example, of polyamide, which has a melting point much higher than that of polyethylene, therefore it does not melt and two films do not solder. By the way, different grades of PE can have different melting points - I speak as a person who is directly related to polymers (though not a technologist himself).

It may very well be. The idea is primitive, probably everyone first tried it out.)
On occasion, I will try to weld the two outer sides with other tools. Well, okay, two polyamides are not friendly with each other at our temperatures. But why doesn't polyethylene stick to them?
Igrig
Quote: Bijou
But why doesn't polyethylene stick to them?
The explanation is simple: polyethylene and polypropylene are basically impossible to glue - and there is no such glue (except for butadiene rubber, for example, scotch tape - but this is a separate song, not suitable for our case); it can only be soldered, that is, to melt the material and achieve the interpenetration of two layers of material into each other (the formation of an alloy) (sorry, but in a different way, not so erotic, it's difficult to explain ...) Well, if one layer is not melted, then and there is no "interpenetration". For fun, try lighting some polyethylene and dripping onto a countertop with a plastic surface, for example - it's usually PVC or ABS. With a little effort, this drop can be easily simply picked off!
Bijou
Quote: Igrig

Yeah, logical. On the way, I remembered not drops of polyethylene, because I don't know how they behave, but drops of stearin from a candle. Which, after cooling, bounce off the rest of the surfaces.)
Igrig
Bijou,
Today I experimented with "Meter" smooth packages. I don't know if it was here, but I tried to insert a net into the sealing area ... from a simple plastic "washcloth". You know, there are sleeves made of mesh, gathered into a "ball", then tied with a string. This mesh is just made of polyethylene. The result was not impressive.
1. With 2-4 layers of this mesh, the air is not completely evacuated.
2. With 6 layers, the air is pumped out perfectly, but the seam is not soldered. Moreover, this mesh, due to the fact that it is superbly stretched, does not allow it to be stretched evenly, where it is poorly stretched (this is mainly at the edges), these layers simply do not solder even in the "Wet Product" mode.
But my "inquisitive mind", or rather the desire to save money on packages, came to an almost brilliant idea!
There are also nets that are used to close boxes or boxes of vegetables so that the vegetables don't fall out! This mesh is thick enough even in one layer to evacuate air, it is rigid in structure, practically does not stretch, which makes it almost ideal for our purpose: to put it inside a sealing bag! (I was tortured to straighten it with a sponge net.) Made of polyethylene! What you need!
By the way, vegetables are also packed in similar films-sleeves: onions, carrots, potatoes ...
The main thing is not to confuse it with a woven mesh - it is made of polypropylene and it is completely different in its properties.
Searching the Internet for film sleeves led to the fact that one package contains the minimum possible length of 150 m !!! This amount is enough (if you cut into 5 cm), insert it into 6,000 bags ...
Search in the nearest stores of type 5, Magnet was not particularly pleased.
The idea is to find somewhere (Metro, Auchan ...) a box that is closed with a rigid mesh, close it quietly, they still throw it away and try it on the packer!
Hope dies last!
Is it true that someone had already received their sight before me?

The most important thing here is not the shape of the cells, but the material. L and V are PP and braided.
Cells of different shapes are made from PE. I went shopping today and looked. They even do it with thickenings in the crosshairs and so on. Almost became an expert.

Damn, I do not even know if the mesh that I speculatively chose as an "ideal" will work, and you mean oranges!
I don’t know what kind of net the oranges are packed in in Murmansk, maybe both!
Ostap Bender generally gave a telegram: load oranges in barrels!
It is almost impossible to explain on the fingers, I will try to find the ideal grid first, then the photo will be.
Selection principles:
1. You need PE (polyethylene). Well, how can this be determined by its appearance? Not every polymer specialist will determine what the basin is made of, for example: from PP or PE?
2. PP (polypropylene) is not needed (most likely), woven mesh is made of it.
3. The mesh should be quite thick (probably about 1 mm).
4. It should not shrink itself. Otherwise, it is not very convenient to seal.

Bijou

I already wrote above about the tubes and non-woven napkins - they did not please in any way!
1. Mosquito nets are not available at home, but a new washcloth turned out to be ... At the dacha, the mosquito net is as thin as the washcloth mesh ...
2. But there is also polyamide nets. There is no such house either. But it will definitely not melt, but can only melt into the PE.
3. Fatin is also absent, but it is also polyamide (nylon).
And hands itch - this time!
And I want an ideal - well, I'm a perfectionist!
Well, and somehow doubts take that it will be evacuated because of their subtlety - my experiments: 2 layers did not give a vacuum at all, and even 4 layers of mesh from a washcloth provided very weak vacuumization!

So I have been busy with non-woven lately. I got used to the tight process, when I start the pump several times in a row, and even in the "turbo" mode. Because yesterday I was stunned by the tube - zip and it's done.))
