Kumquats in orange syrup (kumquat jam and jam)

Ingredients

Kumquats 850 gram
Fresh oranges (squeeze juice) 2 pcs. medium size
White sugar 500 grams

Cooking method

  • Rinse the kumquats several times in hot water and wash off the greasy deposits from them, rub them with your hands.
  • Cut the kumquats in half, remove all the seeds.
  • Put the kumquats in a saucepan, add juice from two oranges, cover with sugar, stir.
  • Put the pan on fire, bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Set aside the pan from heat, hold in syrup for about a day, then put on fire, bring to a boil and cook over medium-low heat for about 20-25 minutes.
  • Cook until the liquid boils away, and when the bottom becomes clean after holding a spoon over it.
  • Arrange the kumquats in jars, close the lid, and turn the lid down until it cools completely. The output of ready-made kumquats is small, 2 jars of 200 ml.
  • It turned out just those kumquats that I like!

  • Then cook for another 20-25 minutes until thickened. The density of the jam depends on your desire, you can cook a little or long, the syrup thickens well.
  • Then pour into jars and close with lids.
