Cabbage Pie Sloth

Ingredients

Fresh white cabbage (small forks) 1 forks
Mixed minced meat 600 gr.
Rice 50 gr.
Onion (grate) 1
Garlic (press) 1-2 teeth
Vegetable broth 200 ml.
Parsley 1 tbsp. l.
Celery greens 1 tbsp. l.
Large tomatoes (peel and grate) 300 gr.
Vegetable oil 2 tbsp. l.
Ground cumin nutmeg (on the tip of a knife)
Lemon juice 3-4 tbsp. l.
Bulgarian red pepper (chop very finely) 100 g
Salt pepper (to taste)

Cooking method

  • Oh, and I liked being lazy lately! And according to this, another recipe for lazy cabbage rolls in one pie! I didn't find it on our site, if there is, please insert a link! So, we begin to be lazy.
  • Add rice, onion, garlic, parsley and celery, ground nutmeg and caraway seeds, tomatoes, bell pepper, half of the broth, salt and pepper to the minced meat.

  • Stir until smooth and refrigerate for one hour.

  • To make this cake, I use split mold 26 cm in diameter... To prevent it from leaking, I cover the bottom with foil, and then with baking paper, put on the ring and fasten it. Then I fold the sheets of foil and paper up.

  • Steam the cabbage leaves (I do it in the microwave), remove the thickenings and line the bottom of the mold with them so that they hang over the side, as we do with the dough. If the leaves are thin, then the layer of them should be double.

  • Put half the minced meat filling on top of the cabbage leaves, pour with half of the remaining broth (50 ml) and cover with one layer of cabbage leaves.

  • We spread the second half of the minced meat, pour 50 ml. broth.

  • Cover with cabbage leaves and leaves hanging from the sides. Pour lemon juice and butter.

  • We cover with foil on top and send to the oven heated to 190 degrees C for 50-50 minutes. Focus on your oven !!!
  • Remove the foil and let the top brown for about 10 minutes. Sprinkle with grated cheese if desired and bake it lightly.

  • Drain off any sauce and save. Empty the pie onto a platter.

  • Serve with yogurt or sour cream, to which add mint. If the pie is dry, pour over the preserved sauce.

I steamed both whole and leaves ... placed in a food bag, but much depends on the type of cabbage!

4. Cooking time is about an hour.

5. Pie "Sloth" not because it is fast, but because it is not time consuming! Do not say that to wind cabbage rolls by 700 gr. minced meat easily and quickly I have recipes on the site and I cook them quite often too.

...here I read "send for 1 hour in the refrigerator"! I understand that I did not read the recipe carefully.
As a result, the cabbage softened, and for dinner they ate the soup left over from lunch.


in this case, we could immediately use minced meat, we send it to the refrigerator so that it "brews" and gains aromas!

5. You have lost a lot without adding spices, I strongly advise you to read the recipes carefully!
