Cooking method

  • Thanks to Yanochka (Bastilda) for the recipe. Soak prunes in wine or liqueur - preferably overnight. Beat eggs with sugar until it is completely dissolved. Add slaked soda. Chop flour with margarine, combine the egg mixture with flour, add sour cream and knead the dough. Do not knead the dough for a long time.
  • We take out the prepared prunes from alcohol and fill them with halves of nuts (I roasted the nuts in the oven).
  • Divide the dough into 32 pieces, put prunes with nuts in the center of each piece and cover them. Put the resulting balls on a baking sheet lined with paper.
  • We put the baking sheet in the oven at 180 degrees for about 15-20 minutes - look at the appearance of the balls, they will slightly bake, but it is important not to dry them out! Ready-made easy to check on a dry stick.
  • Cream: beat the cream until thick, add condensed milk and mix. Little by little, pour the cookies into the cream for 5 minutes, then put the soaked balls on a dish (bowl) according to the principle of a slide. When the bowl is full, pour the rest of the cream on top and put it in the cold (I put it in the refrigerator overnight). The bowl was previously laid out with cling film, then the cake was easy to remove. In the morning I melted a bar of dark chocolate and poured over the cake.

After baking, the balls are average between shortbread and biscuit. I was afraid to whip cream with condensed milk, so I whipped the cream first, and then introduced the condensed milk manually. The cream was whipped perfectly for the first time. You can experiment with the cream. It will be nice with a cream based on sour cream. After serving, either cut the cake into portions, or the guests will disassemble the balls themselves.
