Pumpkin jam with cranberries

Ingredients

Peeled pumpkin 600g.
Cranberry 500g.
Sugar 700g.

Cooking method

  • Cut the pumpkin into small cubes, put in a saucepan, pour water to just cover the pumpkin. Bring to a boil (without closing the lid), reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. During this time, the water is almost completely absorbed into the pumpkin.
  • Rinse the cranberries, cover with a wooden crush, add to the pumpkin, mix.
  • Add sugar. For sweeter lovers, sugar can be increased to 1kg. Stir, bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook without closing the lid and stirring occasionally for 25-30 minutes. During this time, the virop should thicken.
  • Arrange in sterilized jars, roll up.
  • Do not store in the refrigerator.

Well, in general, I made jam. Very tasty! The pumpkin is interesting. Only now it really needs to be slightly suppressed with acid, as is the case with cranberries. Otherwise, it strongly dominates the taste. In the cherry, its own sourness was not enough for this. Well, without thinking twice, I cut off three thin slices of lemon, chopped finely together with the zest and sent them to jam. And immediately everything fell into place. I just made a little jam, for testing. But I think that if my husband likes it (he is still in St. Petersburg, so he will try it only tomorrow) the same way as I do, I will still cook and experiment with different berries. Ksyushechka, thanks for the good recipe!

I even collected the viburnum, squeezed the juice, but at the last moment I changed my mind, since the specific smell of the viburnum stopped me. If you like viburnum, you can try it. For color, I added a strong broth of blackberry, and for taste - lemon ground without seeds in a blender.

There was no time left to try, I managed to lick it while I was putting it in the jars. It turned out 2 cans of 0.5 liters. But my heart senses - in winter there will be a "squeak-squeal" for these banks. I'm not a big fan of pumpkin and cranberries. But in this combination it turned out delicious.
