Roast with Italian sauce

Ingredients

minced meat (better beef, but you can also mixed) 1 kg
bulb onions 3 medium onions
olive oil 5 tbsp. l.
eggs 2-3 pcs. (the number of eggs depends on which minced meat was taken)
crackers 50 g
chopped parsley 4 tbsp. l.
grated cheese (I took "Russian") 125 gr.
tomato 750 gr.
garlic 1 clove
favorite herbs, seasonings (I took "Provencal herbs") 1 teaspoon
sugar, salt, pepper taste

Cooking method

  • 1. Cut 2 onions into cubes and sauté in olive oil. Knead minced meat, eggs, rusks, 3 tablespoons. tablespoons of parsley and 60 gr. cheese. You can smack a lump of minced meat on the table several times. Shape into a loaf of bread.

  • 2. Fry in the remaining vegetable oil until crusty on both sides. At this stage, you will need the help of someone at home. I called my daughter, and we, armed with four shoulder blades, turned the loaf over. Heat the oven to 180 degrees.

  • 3. Remove the skin from the tomatoes, cut into cubes. Chop the rest of the onion and garlic and stew together with the tomatoes into the plum. oil 20 min. Season with herbs, sugar, salt and pepper.

  • 4. Transfer the roast to the stewpan (I previously put a rug made of non-stick fabric into the stewpan, or you can lay out the bottom and walls with a baking sleeve cut along the seam). Drizzle with sauce. Cover and simmer in the oven for about 60 minutes. At the end of cooking, you can open the lid and sprinkle the remaining cheese on the loaf so that a crust forms on top. I didn’t do this, because I took the minced meat and thought it would be too fat.

  • We had dinner very tasty! Boiled small pasta was served as a garnish.
