Mexican chocolate pie


flour 1 1/2 cups
sugar 1 glass
cocoa powder 1/2 cup
cinnamon 2 tsp
baking powder 1 tsp
cayenne pepper or ground chili 1/4 tsp
salt 1/4 tsp
vanilla sugar 1 sachet
vegetable oil (odorless) 2 tbsp. l.
balsamic vinegar 1 tbsp. l.
cold water 1 glass
powdered sugar 1 glass
water 3 tbsp. l.

Cooking method

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  • Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl, add liquid ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  • Put the resulting dough in a dish greased with vegetable oil (mold size 20 * 20) and bake for 25-30 minutes (check the willingness with a wooden stick).
  • Cool the cake in a tin for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
  • For the glaze, grind the icing sugar with water.
  • Pour icing on the cooled cake.

Only I replaced the chocolate icing with a plain white one. I did it with chocolate, but I liked the white one more.

I always have balsamic vinegar, so I haven't tried it without it. But if there was no vinegar, I would have baked like that. Still, the main thing in this cake is the chocolate taste!

Good day. I came to say thank you for the recipe. Baked a cake today, still warm. I forgot to add vinegar, but the cake rose just fine. It smells strongly of cinnamon, but I like it. The water was replaced with grape juice (home made). I didn't put in the pepper, because I'm going to treat it (I don't know the ladies' tastes). I cut it in half and smeared it with homemade jam. Easy to prepare. I noted for myself that it is not necessary to stir the dough for a long time, otherwise it becomes rubbery.
