Some time ago it became known that electric buses would appear in Moscow after a while. It is assumed that the abandonment of traditional technologies will change the ecological situation.
It is difficult to imagine that a partial rejection of diesel in the case of buses will have a serious impact on the environment, but, on the other hand, such initiatives have a positive effect on the image of the government. Naturally, representatives of the city hint that they used advanced experience and technologies that have practically no analogues.
In fact, the real situation looks somewhat different. It is fair to say that there are not too many electric buses in the world until this technology has become widespread, but at the same time, Moscow should not be considered a leader in this area. The countries of old Europe have advanced much further towards creating a comfortable electrical infrastructure. Thus, one of the largest electrical networks operates in Amsterdam. It is important that the new infrastructure is tailored for the use of electric buses.
If we talk about other countries, then you should pay attention to Germany, it is here that the most extensive network of electric gas stations operates. Experts say that there will be an explosive growth in the number of charging points, this is due to a new law that makes it almost impossible to use old diesel engines. You can treat this ban in different ways, for example, some experts believe that an almost complete ban on diesel engines is a premature measure.
One way or another, recently it became known that the Berlin authorities have decided to purchase several electric buses, which will run on the streets of the city on an ongoing basis. It is important that this is not a one-time action, but a whole program that is already working in the capital of Germany. With a high degree of probability, in the near future, all German buses without exception will become electric.
Naturally, it is too early to say when the abandonment of classic buses will occur, but Berlin has already taken this path. Thus, it is known that the city has purchased several Mercedes Citaro cars, these buses are equipped with a 243 kWh battery. More precisely, the battery pack consists of 10 sections. Most of them are concentrated in the back, some elements have been moved to the roof. The bus will be charged at night, according to preliminary information, charging will take about 11 hours.
It is interesting that the declared cruising range is only 150 km. Naturally, in conditions of dense city traffic, the indicators will be lower, the real mileage will not exceed 100 km, which is quite small considering the intensity of bus traffic.
Despite the objective problems arising during the operation of electric vehicles, it remains to be hoped that the Germans will be able to cope with the difficulties. With a high degree of probability, the later German experience is used by the authorities of large Russian cities.
