Salad

Ingredients

Eggs 6 pcs.
Bulb 1 PC.
Canned fish 1 can
Hard cheese 100gr.
Butter
Mayonnaise

Cooking method

  • Girls, here's a recipe for my favorite fish salad.
  • I have been doing it since ancient times, I would be glad not to do it anymore, but they demand it (my son and brother have this favorite salad). It is better to make it from mackerel according to Elenka's recipe:
  • Layer on a dish:
  • grated proteins
  • grated cheese
  • fish (drain oil, break into pieces)
  • pour mayonnaise
  • onion, finely chopped
  • butter (from the freezer), three directly on the onion
  • grated yolks.
  • Fill in mayonnaise again and leave in the refrigerator for an hour.
  • We decorate, as our own imagination tells.

I also really like this salad, very tasty. But why is butter interesting, we do not have it in the recipe.

Many people make this popular salad without oil.

I like the version with butter, it is somehow more tender, in short, it turns out differently.

Although you can not use oil. But it tastes better with it, the oil goes well with raw onions, softens its spiciness.

If without oil, then you need to pour boiling water over the chopped onion, rinse with cold water and squeeze a little. Or marinate the onions in a mixture of water and vinegar for a while.
Story
Luysia , I've been making this salad for 15 years, I love it sooo, but I didn't know the name, the guests say: mimosa ..., but in my opinion mimosa is different. I made something out of a sockeye salmon - the salad turned out to be neooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowered. I have an old recipe, even in mayonnaise cans the amount of mayonnaise is determined, well, only masla can put a little less than the norm.

tatianaskazka, the recipe for this salad and the name I once copied from the magazine "Rabotnitsa" (in the last century). So he remained "Austrian".

The amount of oil is not specified, I rub the frozen oil directly onto the onion layer, about a third of the pack.

Luysia , Yes Yes Yes! I have it written: butter is 100g, but for me it’s a lot, so I put less, but it turns out as you say - a third of the pack (if the pack is 200g): girl_love: oh, how I love him ...

Something like that, with oil, I once found many years ago in the newspaper Trud. Then it was called "Mimosa" salad, and the original used canned salmon. The people changed for a more budgetary and affordable option, using saury and other canned food. I still have the newspaper clipping. There she is:

Well, they praised it, I'll try to make it with butter now.

"Mimosa" I know 2 options. One is similar to "Austrian", only without butter, and the second - with vegetables and no cheese.

Since the article I quoted above was published in "Truda", this very "Mimosa" was invented in varieties, so, from 250, no less. Moreover, each housewife believes that it is her version of "Mimosa" that is the most correct. They treated me to it in different houses with variations containing carrots, beets, potatoes, and even cabbage. Moreover, none of the options even closely resembled "Mimosa" with its delicate refined taste.
Personally, I have been doing it for many years in the same way as in that clipping. Ready-made, with yolks sprinkled on top, this salad, indeed, resembles mimosa, which is why it was called that.
However, if anyone wants, you can call it "Austrian Salad"

Indeed, as many people as there are names of salad)).For example, I have a salad called "Austrian", which means layers of boiled grated potatoes, fried onions (the more, the tastier), boiled chicken breast, grated eggs and all layers are smeared with mayonnaise (very high-calorie, but nevertheless very tasty.

Salad
I haven't cooked this salad for a long time, and I have never made it with butter and cheese (yes, all the time with carrots, yes!). True, the yolk is very pale so, well, not at all mimosa, but what to do ...

And very, very tasty!

I love this salad !!! I do it often!
And right now I'm looking for the one with carrots, but you can do without potatoes. And I can't find a suitable one!
