My husband bought (did not catch) a pair of small pikes. Such an idea came to mind with a dish. It turned out very tasty. Recommend!

Angela, great recipe! And I think it will work great for other types of fish too

Nice and right!
I usually pickle my catch in a mixture of mayonnaise and mustard. Pike from mayonnaise becomes softer, and mustard helps to fight off excess odors, if there are any - ooze, swamp, grass pike can easily smell.

I've never come across a pike with the smell of mud. Our local doesn't smell. Maybe someone came across, but I do not, I repeat. I bought different weights. Even the local catfish did not come across odorous. But I brought it from Don, so I could not eat at all, although I love catfish very much. The only thing that always smells of mud in our country is the bighead. I don’t buy it. Although we have it very cheap.

Mine only fishes in the summer, does not go in winter, so I leave cooking the pike until spring
