Quinoa (Cuckoo 1054)

Ingredients

Quinoa 1 m. St
Boiling water 2 m. St
Salt to taste
Vegetable oil 10-15 ml

Cooking method

  • I cook the quinoa like most pre-fry cereals.
  • We pre-wash the quinoa with cool water so that it doesn't taste bitter.
  • Then pour oil into the cuckoo's bowl, put the quinoa there, select the Oven mode for 2 minutes and fry the quinoa, stirring constantly, in fact, 3-4 minutes in time.
  • The grains even "shoot", stir so that they do not burn.
  • Turn off the Oven mode, add boiling water, salt to taste. We select the Multi-cook mode 120 degrees, time 2 minutes.

Note

I love this cereal, it can be used as an independent dish, as a side dish or as the main ingredient in a salad.
Quinoa is not a cereal, but the seeds of a plant of the same name. But this does not make it less tasty and healthy. Yes, it is useful, because quinoa, like nothing else, contains valuable amino acids (lysine, isoleucine, threonine, tryptophan and valine), which contribute to the absorption of proteins. This grain is rich in protein (which is not inferior in quality to dairy), and surpasses barley, rice, oats and wheat in the amount of energy, calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamin B, fiber and complex carbohydrates. Since quinoa is gluten free, it is ideal for those with gluten allergies.
You can eat it as a side dish, you can like the Tabouleh salad, I like it with pomegranate seeds or with the usual cucumber-tomato salad.

I mixed it with fried onions, molded patties and sautéed. My husband really liked it. Said it tasted like delicate fishcakes.

Rina, I have been cooking quinoa for a long time. I don't remember the details. On the Kasha mode it is 0.7, but I don't remember how long, in my opinion, 10 minutes. Usually I divide the time indicated on a pack of cereals by 3.
I make a tabbouleh salad with quinoa.I cut cucumber and tomato, onion, garlic, a lot of greens. You can make some kind of gas station. But usually I just season with olive oil.
