Pumpkin compote (Kuerbis-kompott)

Ingredients

peeled pumpkin 1 kg
sugar 450 g
water 1 l
vanilla sugar packaging
vinegar essence 70% 1 tsp

Cooking method

  • Oh, and my boiled mood today! In Germany, a dish such as compote is eaten with a spoon. It contains much more fruit and less syrup. This dessert goes well with meat dishes. Compote can be eaten immediately or canned. Spices are added to the compote - cinnamon, cloves, allspice, etc., as well as alcoholic drinks and fruit juice. For the preparation of compote, hard, non-starchy fruits are chosen.
  • Cut the pumpkin into slices, add everything else. Boil and cook over medium heat for 15-20 min (i 20 min) until desired softness. If you cook more compote, the cooking time will increase slightly. Compote is eaten completely cooled. Pumpkin looks like boiled pineapple, and syrup resembles store-bought syrup in canned fruit.

Time for preparing:

25min

Thank you! Interesting! Does vinegar not give strong acid?
NataliARH
radalina3, no, it doesn't smell like pumpkin, it looks like canned pineapples, and the liquid resembles a store filling made of canned peaches / apricot / pineapple
