Elena Tim,
Oksanna,
How delicious it turned out for you (although I am peas, I hate beans).
The recipe is in the bookmarks, but so far I have not dared to do it.

and barley should be at the bottom of the bowl?
Yes, it is desirable, then it is guaranteed to boil down.
Quote: Oxanna
everything is already prepared and it turned out sooooo tasty!
Super turned out, and great pictures Bon appetit!

until I did not dare to do so
Why hesitate then?

Linadoc, I will add a review. I wanted to immediately wait for a reaction from everyone at home, but could not resist when I tried it myself.
So, my husband came and asked to transfer the barley from the bowl to the saucepan. It looks (pearl barley) not very much (2 extra multi-glasses are visible)
"Why is she like that?" - Try it, - I say.
As a result, the sample turned into eating barley with a spoon straight from the bowl, interrupted only by interjections "mmmm, how delicious!"
And the husband demanded to supplement the review with his impressions and gratitude for the searches and such successful finds-recipes))) very, grit, unusual and unusual combination, but very tasty!

an unusual and unusual combination, but very tasty!
Well, before that it was the usual combination. Then they forgot something about him. The main thing is tasty, satisfying and healthy ... and my husband liked it

Linadoc, Can I use dry split peas (in halves), which are put in the soup? And then you want to cook, but there is no other
Linadoc
Quote: solmazalla
Or you can use dry crushed peas (in halves)
Sure you may. But it also needs to be soaked for several hours, rinsed, and put together with the pearl barley.
solmazalla
LinadocThank you, I went to soak, then I will leave and after 2-3 hours I will put it on to cook. Of course, this is not the prescribed 7 hours of soaking, but at least something. And at night my husband and I will crack an unprecedented combination of products

in 2-3 hours I will put to cook
All in all, and that's nothing, will go

Linadoc, I am reporting. Yesterday we ate at night, and in parallel to my husband I told about the monks about the Finno-Ugric cuisine (and he himself is one of them). So my husband, who does not eat anything, ate everything that was put on the plate, but now he finished the rest for lunch. I had a little bit left, as I was making half a portion for a sample. What can I say, TASTY !!! Bookmark unambiguously! But who would be dispossessed of mushrooms for mushrooms, otherwise they would have left their own at one time
Linadoc
Alla, well, thank God that we ate, ate and enjoyed ourselves! Bon appetit, cook for health!
Bast1nda
Thank you very much for the recipe!
We loved this dish! Due to the cabbage, it turns out not dry and even without meat it is very tasty and independent. I put dry peas (fair) in a mixture: yellow, green plus two types of lentils. This is sandy sand!
I soaked the pearl barley for 6 hours, while I was driving on business, it was soaking. Mushrooms are homemade dry mix. I cooked in a pressure cooker Orson 6002 on the "porridge" program for 20 minutes.
Did half of the norm, it worked out decently)))))) for two eaters. Pearl barley 1 multi-glass, finely chopped fresh cabbage, probably 700 grams. Mushrooms as in the recipe and everything else as in the recipe.
Linadoc
Natalia, glad that the recipe came up! Cook for health.
Bast1nda
Yes, I was worried that I had a mixture of peas with lentils))))) but nothing, it did not spoil the taste. There were no clean green dry peas))))
Linadoc
And legumes generally easily replace each other. You just don't need to soak lentils and that's it.
celfh
Remove the greaves and a wonderful lean dish turns out. A very interesting combination of cabbage and barley))

Yes, that's what I wrote. Actually, this is what they did in monasteries - sometimes with cracklings, sometimes without, depending on party line fluctuations the presence or absence of a post.
milka80
Linadoc, but tell me the final output of the dish? I don’t understand how much it will turn out in the end. Basically, my husband and I will eat, so that not a week
Linadoc
Irina, that's not measured the result. Maybe someone will weigh?
milka80
In general, I cooked)))) Linadoc, exactly 1 kg of prescription cabbage? I put 500g, looked into the saucepan - well, somehow it’s sooo much, how much would then it be 1kg)) As a result, for 1.5 multi-glasses of cereal, I still had a lot of cabbage (Maybe this was conceived, of course, but the taste of porridge was not even heard, the cabbage clogs in. But all the same, I smacked my lips, because I love all the ingredients separately and eat them separately. The children, unfortunately, did not eat (((I'm waiting for my husband now.
By the way, it turned out sooo much. For two, you can really do 1/3 of the recipe.

To sum up: I dragged the recipe into the bookmark, but I will select the proportions of the components for myself
Linadoc
Irina, yes, I usually put 800-1000g of cabbage. Fine. By the way, I have a large family, plus friends / boyfriends / girlfriends of children all the time, so only just once.
VitaVM
Linadoc, thank you very much for the wonderful recipe. The whole family liked it very much.
Did it for 1/2 portion, in a cuckoo 1004 on the "PP" mode - 4 hours on the timer, by morning.

Linadoc,
For the recipe is a huge merci.
Prepared half a portion in Štebik XXL
On prescription.
With sauerkraut and chanterelles, it turned out to be a hearty and not high-calorie dish
I will cook it now
Linadoc
Olga, I'm glad the recipe came up. I also often do it with different variations - simple, tasty, healthy, satisfying! Cook with pleasure!
lady inna
Lina, this is some kind of wrong barley Because it is simply incredibly tasty! And this despite the fact that I did not have mushrooms and peas. True, she sprinkled a tablespoon of porcini mushroom powder (well, it means there were mushrooms after all)) Instead of butter, I put the melted fat left over from the baked pork neck. She did not regret cabbage: a head of 1.2 kg of young cabbage. And thanks to this very cabbage, it turned out so soft cream! And without Shteba, I would not have been able to do so. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe!
Monastery barley (Steba DD1 and DD2)
P.S: My husband hates barley, but he said!
Linadoc
lady inna, Inna, I'm glad that I liked the recipe! Unsuccessful hardly lived for so many years. In the photo, the most beautiful porridge turned out. Cook for health!
