Everyone knows how to eat onions and garlic, but for some reason no one talks about garlic arrows. You may have no idea how delicious it is. They can be eaten fresh, fried, boiled, salted, pickled. They say that even spray-water tomatoes from late blight.
Make a tomato and cucumber salad, add the garlic arrow. Boil soup, cabbage soup, borscht along with herbs, cut an arrow. If you fry and pour in an egg (no matter who loves fried eggs or chatterbox), it's delicious. And what aroma, when you fry it - drool flows. Fried or stewed meat with an arrow is delicious. When you make a vegetable or meat stew, the garlic arrow will add a unique aroma and taste.
Pickled or salted arrows are delicious.
Just like greens, freeze, and in winter enjoy excellent dishes.
Although the recipes are designed for a narrow circle of owners of personal plots and dachas who grow garlic and throw away (unfortunately) garlic arrows.
The most important thing is to rip it off in time, so that it does not overripe, otherwise it will be very tough.

I agree with every word in your note, valentine
I just don't agree that people are throwing arrows away. We have already talked about this on the forum, people use arrows in a variety of ways. You have listed well where you can apply them. If there are those who still throw out arrows, your article will help them. By the way, our winter garlic in the country has grown well. (y) Today the first snow fell, sheltered it from possible frosts, which we are promised. Our arrows will be in May, and we will assemble them in time, prepare and freeze some of them!
Thanks for the article and ideas!

It's a good idea to freeze the garlic arrows. I have been freezing fruits and vegetables for a very long time, and for some reason the arrows have become an exception ... I'll get better! Thank you!
alinysik
and we marinate them ... it's even better than you can imagine ...

Once upon a time, when I could eat garlic and ate in large quantities, I did the following with the arrows: I scrolled them through a meat grinder, put them in a jar, added a little salt and (according to my mood and desire) vegetable oil. Stirred and refrigerated. And then: either for bread, or in cabbage soup, or straight into your mouth. By the time the arrows appeared, the old garlic was terribly annoying and seemed tasteless, but there were arrows. But this is not for everybody. True, I did not even try to wash the jar after the garlic, I threw it away - the smell remained indelible and unbreakable.

Alinysik, if it's not difficult for you, tell me what kind of marinade you fill the garlic arrows with. I had a recipe that was lost unfortunately. And this year I hope there will be a harvest of garlic shooters (my husband has a hobby - growing garlic). Also, if anyone has a recipe for pickled garlic, I will be very grateful!
Cook
I can like cucumbers.

For 1.5 liters of water:
70 g - salt
140 g - sugar
2 teeth - garlic
5 pcs - allspice
1 piece - dill umbrella
3 pcs - bay leaves

Arrange the garlic in sterilized jars, add spices. Pour boiling water over. Wait until the water has cooled down, drain. Bring the marinade to a boil: water, salt, sugar. Remove from heat, pour arrows. Pour in 2 tsp. essences and close the banks.

And we fry / stew them in vegetable oil. Just add salt and nothing else is needed, all the spices are already there. Delicious
