Cooking method

  • And if any of the neophytes will look for how to cook soup, here is my report:

  • beets, carrots, onions, sausages (as in their recipe), millet (no potatoes) and green frozen beans to a heap. Pour hot water (from a thermopot). Salt, seasonings. Water 3 liters.

  • I put on the recipe 50 minutes, temperature, fan - the highest. I closed the pan with a lid. Not cooked. That is, the beets are 80% raw, the carrots are semi-finished. The rest, of course, was cooked long ago.

  • We do not give up, we continue cooking. The same parameters as 10 minutes... Not cooked.

  • She opened the lid. More 15 minutes... Well, damn it, it's almost! The water boiled away, while the thermot boiled water, the borscht stood. I looked - this damned beet became softer! Topped up with 400 ml. More 12 minutes with the lid open. It was actually cooked, although the beets could have been a little softer. The water had to be refilled again.

  • Mdyaya ... Total time: 1 hour 27 minutes + 10 minutes of "settling". Conclusions, they are also questions:

  • - maybe the pan is to blame? Thin-walled but steel.

  • - maybe a very large amount of water takes such a long time?

  • - maybe the beets should have been cooked separately? But for the sake of that I bought, so as not to toil in separate pots and pans.

  • And the taste is normal, as expected

The total cooking time is approximately

1 hour 40 mins.

Merri
Willow, I also once cooked borscht in AG. I was overwhelmed to wait for it to be cooked! It turned out delicious, but for a very long time. Probably, it makes sense to do it when there is very little time - fell asleep and pulled out on a timer.
