I cooked these oranges today (boiled, dried), but I haven't covered it with chocolate yet. I tried it - the crust is bitter (I did everything according to the instructions).
Can you please tell me who cooked them: is this how it should be, or was I unlucky with oranges?
May @
Hope, my first water was bitter, the syrup was bitter, but oranges are not bitter.
Or maybe this is due to the fact that there is no chocolate, maybe he clogs the bitterness?
AlenaT
I also have a slight bitterness in ready-made sweets.
But it doesn't spoil the finished product at all.
I made the syrup in water, in which I boiled oranges-
maybe because of this.
I store it on the balcony in a tightly closed tin box.
Even tastier than steel.
And Lilin also took chocolate, bitter Italian.

Natasha, thank you and came here to say. I spent these holidays under the sign of your recipes. Such beautiful sweets as yours did not work out. After boiling, the flesh of many circles "failed", then overexposed in the oven, the crust turned out to be hard, but still tasty.
Nothing tastes bitter. I also store it on the balcony in a jar, because Babaev's chocolate, in which I dipped it, melts at room temperature.
Zima
thanks girls!
Today I pinched off another circle - it doesn't taste bitter! I don't know what to think anymore, maybe the variety is still different, I had 2 different varieties
I also have some oranges just collapsed after boiling, I punched them with a blender with a part of the syrup and set them to cook, I want to try to make jam ..
natapit,
thanks for a beautiful and delicious recipe

I'm not bitter. Maybe it also depends on the orange?
AlenaT
And right now I went out onto the balcony, grabbed the candy-
and bitterness is not felt :-) :-) :-)
Either I got used to it, or they needed to make friends with each other ...
The cub tried it - also liked it, said nothing about bitterness ...
Insisted, in general :-) :-) :-)
And the taste is more harmonious than right after cooking :-)
Followers, keep in mind :-) :-) :-)

Well, that's figured it out! I didn't taste bitter. maybe there was such a slight aftertaste of the zest, but not obvious bitterness! thank you, my good ones, for the kind words and comments !!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Zima
My oranges lost their bitterness 12 hours after cooking. The variety that tasted bitter, yes, as Natalya writes, the aftertaste of the zest remained, and the variety that was very boiled in his crust, well, it turned out very sweet, in general the zest is not felt ... but unfortunately, there are not many whole sweets left, the rest went for jam - although I am even glad that it happened, since I wanted to try to make jam for a long time, but my hands did not reach
Karolina
Thank you very much for the Chocolate Covered Oranges. I bought oranges several times and all hands did not reach this recipe. My chocolate was very thick, I added butter (preferably without), in the photo there are 2 pieces. more smoothly doused, and the chocolate curdled with 20% cream. The second batch was made to take away for a visit, a friend said that it was very tasty even without chocolate. Ate very quickly.

I made candy! Awesome! Very, very tasty! Appreciated by all the acquaintances (bragged left and right). One question: how to keep them so intact? I had those that were thicker, those wholes, and those that are thinner - boiled inside, not much, but the shape is not whole.

Natasha, I read everything (previous comments) and understood the reason. I will definitely make it from lime. It's amazingly delicious !!! THANK YOU!!!!
natapit
Thank you!!!

And I came with oranges!

The first version was made from red oranges.

and left some without him. I did it on weekends, I took more than half to visit as a present - by the evening there was nothing left, and last night the rest of the oranges at home were eaten by my husband and me!

Delicious! Absolutely, I will do more!

Olka I
I made lemons like this once, also delicious))
Rita
Oh! What is it yummy !!! Gotta cook again!
marina-asti
Rita, Need, Need! I really like it! And then I let the syrup into the impregnation of the cupcakes or pour it over the cottage cheese! Bitten
Merri
I also often think of this recipe, especially on the eve of Christmas)
Albina
An interesting recipe
Merri
Albina, divinely delicious !!!
Bounty
Did it. I'm eating. She poured a third cup of tea. No time to write. I'm eating.
Next I set the lemons to cook. While eating - burned out
Borisyonok
Bounty, Oksana, here you are carried away by eating sweets!

I just saw these in Italy in a pastry shop like this (or in Switzerland? Maybe in France? I was just in a triangle around the Alps in several towns). I just thought, how to make such? It's good that we have everything on the forum! Bookmarked it. The most New Year's and Christmas delicacy.

The most New Year's and Christmas delicacy.
Really! Cooking is not difficult, you can in advance (but with a "allowance"). I did it in milk chocolate ... for children the very thing, and most importantly - without chemicals!
ElenaMK
It's insanely delicious, but the purchased ones are sooooo expensive! So we stock up on good oranges and quality chocolate :-)!
A.lenka
What an interesting recipe !!!
FSE ... Tomorrow ... No, already today - I'm going for oranges !!!

stocking up on good oranges and quality chocolate
There is no need to stock up on chocolate, it seems to me. As a rule, on New Year's Eve, there is so much of it in different gifts that it is unrealistic to eat everything. And just all sorts of Santa Clauses, bunnies and other symbols of the New Year can be safely melted down. True, chocolate may not be so hot, but still it will be the best use for it. Well, plus our creativity: add cream, cocoa, butter - now the glaze will become tastier.
ElenaMK
Ikra,
I do not agree! What these figurines are made of cannot be called chocolate! Rare muck! And the taste of the dessert is 80 percent dependent on the chocolate!
Merri
Yesterday I bought small oranges and chocolate, I'm waiting for free time to start preparing for the holidays 😄
Svetlana Mazqarovna
Girls, how long do these candies last? In a month I will get to my children in Moscow, if I do it slowly now (then a promotion for oranges, then for chocolate you can snatch), it may work out cheaper, otherwise there are a lot of eaters tama, you will not give out one at a time.
Ant
I do not know about you, but I did a double portion. Nothing survived to the stage with chocolate. The whole family ate candied oranges without chocolate! How delicious they are! (I also actively helped the family to eat this miracle).
In short, I bought a triple rate, I hope something will reach the finish stage.
By the way, the syrup after boiling the orange is very tasty.I don't like sweet tea, but with this syrup, it turns out sweet-sour-bitter. Delicious. I also think it will be useful for impregnating cakes.
Merri
I started preparing for Christmas yesterday with this wonderful dessert! You cannot insert a photo from the phone, then I will report.

Girls, who uses the leftover syrup how?
Today I decided to bake something like a cottage cheese manna. Ingredients - cottage cheese, semolina, flour, sugar, melted butter, egg and sour cream.
So I replaced sour cream and melted butter (that is, the main liquid components) with orange syrup. It turned out to be a gummy, fluffy sponge cake without any fat. I hoped that there would be an orange flavor (after all, there was a lot of syrup), but the orange was not felt at all. There was a strong honey cake. And the color of the product is brown! Although there is nothing to give such a shade, except for syrup.
Delicious honey cake, but I was expecting orange curd. :-)
Merri
Irina, I so far poured it into a saucepan and put it in the refrigerator (who would remind me what I did with it before). And beauty and deliciousness are already in store:
Oranges in chocolate
Seberia
My God, what a beauty
I'm already at a low start, I will definitely do it by the new year
Merri
Elena, glazed at night, which negatively affected the decorative effect of the process! The chocolate was badly melted and it lay too thick. Since he is not a hindrance here, I humbly spent him I ate only one so far (you can't try, it's hard to stop), I didn't even treat my husband
DOBA
Girls, I have a question for those who did. What if you dry it in a dryer? Maybe someone tried it?
Merri
Olga, I had such a thought for a long time, but then I saw what temperature Natalya suggested for drying and gave up this thought. Actually, what is there to save after 2 hours of cooking
Mom Tanya
Once again!

Oranges in chocolate

Delicious! Thank you, Natasha!!!
