Sour cream with poppy seeds

Ingredients

For filling:
milk 500 ml
semolina 100 g
poppy 170 g
sugar 150 g
butter 100 g
sour cream 20% fat 200 g
vanilla taste
For the test:
butter 100 g
flour 250 g
sugar 75 g
eggs 1 PC
baking powder 1.5 h l
For the layer:
blackcurrant jam 3 tbsp
blackcurrant liqueur 2 tbsp
To fill:
eggs 3 pcs
sour cream 20% fat 400 g
sugar 100 g
zest with half a lemon

Cooking method

  • 1. Mix poppy seeds, semolina, vanilla and sugar. Pour in milk and bring the mixture to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly. Cover with a lid, remove from heat and let it brew for 15-20 minutes. Then stir in chilled butter, cut into small pieces. When the mixture becomes homogeneous, add sour cream.
  • 2. For the dough, beat the softened butter with sugar until smooth, add the egg and beat again. In several steps, add flour mixed with baking powder and knead the dough. Distribute it according to the shape (D26 cm), raising the side by 3-4 cm.
  • 3. Mix jam with liqueur and place on dough. Distribute the poppy filling on top and put in an oven preheated to 180C for 15-20 minutes.

  • 4. Next, for pouring, separate the whites from the yolks. Beat the yolks with sugar into a fluffy mass, then add sour cream and beat again. Add lemon zest and stir gently.
  • Beat the whites into a strong foam and add to the sour cream mixture in several steps. Remove the cake from the oven and pour in the prepared filling.
