Now I tried Rita, you know what happens: as soon as the edge is cut, the foil further spreads by itself and spreads unevenly. No, I don't think it's good for foil.

I want to thank the girl who provided the e-bey link to the inexpensive rice washer. I really wanted her, horror. It turned out, however, that it is three times smaller than the size I assumed. No, to see the dimensions in the description. I had to roll my lips about washing the berries in it. Although now I am already happy with this turn. Firstly, the berries and without it there is where to rinse, and secondly, it is not so small, 500 g of rice is just in half a bowl and you don't have to think about where to hide another eggplant.

The second cereal wash gizmo (pink) was purchased for the company. I hung it near the sink and use it every day to drain liquid from pots of any size, very convenient.

In Auchan, wonderful jars with checkered lids are now sold for both yogurt and desserts-casseroles. Price - around 11 UAH.

And the other day I bought jars with checkered screw caps in the form of a glass at Epicenter!
325 ml to the eyeballs and 250 ml to the neck.
About 10 UAH per piece.
I was flattered only because in the form of a glass.
Convenient: you can take it on the road with your companion, and then use it as a glass.
There were other volumes, but just jars, not interesting ...

You can wash it in the dishwasher, in fact, because of this, it was bought, but today I was surprised to find out that her husband took her out of the dishwasher after me and washed it under running water, so I don’t know how much it is washed, but I will definitely try.

I do not want to dissuade, but there is a nuance - glass of such volumes is quite heavy and it is not very convenient to handle it.
I have a 5 liter one - unfortunately I pushed it in, I'm afraid to crash, it's very heavy.
Perhaps a square one will be more reliable when working with a dough.

In all the professional videos, I see how the dough is proofed in rectangular plastic, and in our special store for proofing, only plastic containers with displacement risks are sold.

I have tender feelings for glass. I use plastic, but with much less pleasure. By the way, Pyrex has a summer promotion now. There are good discounts on many forms and measuring cups. I ordered a couple for myself. They come - I boast.

Diana - I just very often don't take the dough out of the container with my hands, but throw it out with a spatula, and I can't imagine how this 6-liter bowl can be turned over and held, helping the dough get enough sleep - a lot of strength is needed
And so I have plastic measures with a lid and a handle, up to 3.5 l, if I cook so much dough, I scatter them in containers, they are transparent - it's nice to watch the dough and it's very easy to work with them:

.. I have such a year .... everything is fine with the coating .. but it doesn’t really fry at all without oil .. it’s necessary that some minimal, but it was. For example, drip and smear with a silicone brush. Nothing happened to the coating for a year .. but it is imperative to clean it well after each use .. I once just wiped it off in passing .. there was a small stain left .. which was visually not particularly visible. And then it burned at this place.

I have three of these two-liter containers-mugs: one is a Tupper one with clearly visible divisions, the second was bought somewhere in a hardware store and the third was bought in the "Family" store, it is the cheapest of all.
The first two mugs have a good plug-in lid additive, and the third has a plug-in lid that does not fit well, constantly flies, but nevertheless, all these mugs are in my greatest move in the kitchen.
They are lightweight, there is a handle, there is a hole in the lid through which you can adjust the air flow or close it tightly, all these mugs can be stacked on top of each other, saving our little space.

In old recipes I come across a phrase like "erase almonds on a typewriter", "pass almonds through a typewriter." Machine - is this a meat grinder? Or were there any special almond machines?

Rinochka, I'm sorry if I "strangled" your question. She herself wanted to answer that I was grinding almonds in a small blender. If there was such a "machine" on purpose, we would know about it. If you need it completely in flour, then in a coffee grinder.

dopleta, Larisa, sun, well, we have that the topic is "about everything except baking", and almonds are about baking.

I’m thinking, in the book (this is a reprint of the 1903 edition) it says that when making sausages, cut part of the meat, and pass part through the machine (just like about almonds). That is why I think that I mean a meat grinder. But ... many culinary recipes look as if almonds should not be chopped into porridge, but cut into pieces. Therefore, I suspected that there could well be a separate machine for the almonds. Now we do not know very many adaptations that our great-grandmothers used.

PS By the way, our admiration for our daughter (from my whole family). I hope that she will not have to enter the burning hut (she stopped the iron horse)

Ira, my great-great-grandmother had such a machine. It is slightly smaller than our usual manual meat grinder. Nuts were ground there through a grid with small holes (approximately, like the smallest grid in a meat grinder). This unit was either cast iron or something else with a curved handle.
And I twist almonds in our Soviet manual meat grinder, it turns out great, at least flour, at least nut grains.

Rina, and the rotary grater will not cope with the assigned task? I sometimes rub walnuts in it. The need did not reach the almonds yet.
